Striking how fast Reform went from free-press defenders to calling for the arrest of journalists who investigate it.
Its move to the populist-authoritarian model is unlikely to do much for its poll rating.
STATEMENT:
Reform UK has reported ITV, its board, and its undercover reporters to the police.
Some of the crimes carry up to 10 years in prison.
They forged a passport.
They directly interfered in elections and almost certainly altered the results. Being paid to “canvass” for Reform in crucial wards we lost by a few dozen votes.
They lied to a veteran about their service and left him “violated”.
This is unprecedented.
The police are now involved.
Scrutiny of political parties is one thing.
But anyone breaking the law to try and ruin the lives of Reform’s staff, members or volunteers will be reported to the police and pursued relentlessly in the courts.
Here’s what happened 👇

De nouvelles images montrant l'ampleur des dégâts après l'incendie de la mairie de Limoges nous sont parvenues ce lundi.
🚨 Suspect arrested in France over Limoges City Hall arson — identified as a 40-year-old far-left activist
According to AFP and Le Parisien, the man was on France’s Fiché S security watchlist due to alleged links to radical far-left movements.
He had previously come to the attention of police for violence against public officials.
The suspect was arrested by the elite RAID police unit. The investigation into the October 17 arson attack, which destroyed a significant part of the historic city hall building, also involves counterterrorism investigators.
Hundreds of thousands took to the streets across France last weekend to protest against the cost of living and public services.
One group that joined the cause was the Yellow Vests — a massive movement that stirred similar unrest in 2018.
So how does today’s demonstrations and discontent compare?
Fires burned on the streets of Paris on Sunday, 18 October 2026, as protests continued for a second night. In a televised address, President Emmanuel Macron said the country felt “anger and shame” after Saturday’s violence and that those who destroyed property “must pay”.
More than 2,000 people have been arrested across France since Saturday, according to the Interior Ministry.
