Oct 9th, around 10:30 PM, at Rajyog Building, opposite the CNG Pump, Magathane, Borivali East, NGO member Pranjal was feeding community dogs on the footpath when a man, allegedly threatened her with a steel rod and threw stones at her and the dogs.
Frightened, but brave Pranjal recorded a video and immediately contacted police for help. The police arrived at the spot, and a complaint (NC) was registered against the person at Kasturba Police Station for her safety and to ensure that any further threats or harassment are taken seriously.
The community dogs in this area are friendly, sterilised, and vaccinated against rabies. Pranjal has been taking responsibility for their welfare. Animal feeders deserve respect and should be able to feed community animals without fear or intimidation.
Special thanks to PSI Rupesh Devre, Duty Officer at Kasturba Police Station, and all the police personnel who responded within just five minutes, attended to the situation, and helped register the complaint.

- How is the illegal feeding of stray dogs continuing within these institutional areas in contravention of SC orders?
- How are these so-called feeder gangs gaining access to these institutional areas and their immediate vicinity?
- What action has been taken against these gangs and their members?
- Why are IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, Mumbai University, and local administrations not registering FIRs against them?
Either you think you are above the Supreme Court or you believe you have the liberty to violate SC orders.

Dear Central and State Governments,
- Why are stray dogs still roaming inside school/college campuses, hospitals, railway stations, bus terminals, parks, tourist places, temples, airports, private or public institutional areas and other high-footfall areas, even several months after the Supreme Court's orders in Suo Motu Case No. 5/2025 and the AWBI SOPs issued in line with them?
- Why are complaints not being forwarded by authorities to the police to register FIRs against so-called feeders who are openly feeding stray dogs in direct violation of Supreme Court orders?
- It is the responsibility of campus nodal officers and authorities to ensure that no stray dogs reside in or enter these premises. How are feeders still gaining access to these campuses and their immediate vicinities?
- The Supreme Court allowed authorities to expand this order to other public areas, yet this is neither being implemented nor examined anywhere- even as thousands of people are bitten by stray dogs every month in every city across the country.

🚨 FREEDOM HAS GONE TO THE DOGS. LITERALLY. 🚨
These photos should concern every parent, every woman, and every resident in our community.
On ITI Layout / 5th Main, residents have repeatedly raised concerns about dogs being allowed to roam public streets without leashes. Reported dog-bite incidents have already left people injured, and yet neighbors say the situation continues unabated.
📸 Injured residents.
📸 Unleashed dogs roaming freely on public roads.
📸 The same behavior continuing despite repeated complaints and an FIR reportedly being filed.
This is no longer a dispute between neighbors.
This is a public safety issue.
Parents should not have to worry whether their child will return safely from playing outside.
Women should not have to plan their walks around aggressive, uncontrolled animals.
Senior citizens should not be afraid to step out for their morning walk.
Delivery personnel should not risk injury simply for doing their jobs.
Nobody is asking for special treatment.
Residents are asking for something far more basic:
That existing laws and safety regulations be enforced before another preventable incident occurs.
The evidence is visible.
The complaints have been made.
The concerns have been raised.
The question now is:
What will it take for authorities to act?
