Currently doing a teaching qualification, but no OpenAthens (or similar) access. Some amazing books and reference materials, but how on earth does an academic book go for £100? I just don't get the economics, certainly I can't afford that.

Kudos to the NYPD Transit Bureau for their Broken Windows initiatives and their push back against the tired, old argument by the progressives that it purposely and disproportionately targets minorities. No, it targets those who are breaking the law, and appropriately so. Keep it up, Chief Kemper and your hard working cops. Just think what you could do if your understaffed Bureau was staffed to the level I had in 1990 as Transit Chief — 3,800 cops and if the NYPD was staffed to the level I had as Police Commissioner in 1994 — 38,000. Enough cops and the right strategies could bring New York to even lower levels of crime and disorder. amny.com/editorial/editorial…

Yesterday we were at @CanterburyCCUni with Dan Garnham from Gentium UK Cyber to deliver a seminar on cyber enabled human trafficking and child exploitation. It was the last in a series of seminars on cyber crime available to IPA members.

Inaugural Brian Deacon Award.
In recognition of his 60 years of membership, the branch has created the Brian Deacon Award, given to the Branch member who has most embodied the IPA and/or contributed significantly to the BTP Branch.
Commendable actions by these brave officers 👏🇺🇸
@NYPDTransit
Two @NYPDTransit cops demonstrated exceptional bravery when a man fell onto the subway tracks, lost consciousness, & was in imminent danger of being hit by a train. Without hesitation, they maneuvered through two third-rails & managed to stop the incoming train.
