It’s incredibly frustrating to be in the US during elections, when people act like voting is a revolution.
Trump is but a symptom. His wars, his legislation are all backed by the apparatus of empire that he serves. You didn’t defeat him. You simply played into the anger that he inevitably as a face of empire, represented.
They want democrats in charge next to give an illusion of change. The empire is still standing, expanding and waging war. Bombs are still dropping. Trump is still a billionaire. Many still don’t get this. And you won’t get it until you witness what others witness every day, on your end.

The faces change, the speeches change, but the sanctions, military interventions, economic coercion and pursuit of global dominance continue.
The Global South must understand that its liberation will never come from the ballot boxes of an empire. It will come from dismantling the structures of dependency that allow that empire to dictate the destiny of other nations.
