the golden age of piracy is fascinating to me because it all started with (mostly the british) navy simply abandoning a bunch of personnel who had no job skills aside from sailing and fighting

Iraq 🇮🇶: protesters gathered on Tahrir Square in Baghdad today to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the Tishreen movement which erupted in 2019.
The Tishreen movement, or October Revolution, was the largest civil uprising in post-Saddam Iraq. It was also repeatedly met with brutal crackdowns by both the Iraqi state and pro-Iranian gunmen, leading to hundreds of fatalities.

Wyobraźcie sobie w jakiej ciemnej D jesteśmy, skoro nawet F-16 (czy szerzej, pełnowartościowych wielozadaniowych samolotów bojowych) mamy za mało.
Potrzeby oszacowano na 160 sztuk. Mamy 47 F-16 i czekamy na łącznie 32 F-35 (pierwsze kilka fizycznie już w kraju). Tak – po tych inwestycjach będziemy mieć połowę. Nawet licząc FA-50PL jako namiastkę pełnowartościowego WSB (zamówione 36 sztuk), to brakuje nam dużo samolotów. A nie mamy pilotów nawet dla tej śmiesznie małej liczby.
