We are at @ToScAConference this week. @Geo_XCT just gave her talk on #DVC and climate effects on soil slope degradation, now up is our @StrathCivEng Philip Salter talking about biomineralization and #NetZero
DVC stands for Digital Volume Correlation, a technique used in imaging techniques to measures absolute internal strains of the samples before and after deformation. When you see regular patterns like this, most likely it isn't real #DVC #XCT
Somehow I managed to create a #tartan DVC strain field in my data. Doesn't quite look right...

Our newest experimental x-ray microtomography cell is now proven at the Swiss Light Source TomCAT beamline. A 10 mm OD rock core can have a triaxial stress state (to 500 MPa axial, 30 MPa confining), fluid flow along the core, and a temperature of 573 K. @ffusseis @Dr_Butty
