While travelling frequently on the Srinagar–Anantnag–Kulgam–Qazigund National Highway, it is deeply distressing to see ambulances stranded, students missing classes and ordinary citizens waiting 15–30 minutes, sometimes even hours, for convoy movement. What fault have our people
committed to endure such hardships?
I earnestly appeal to @OfficeOfLGJandK @manojsinha_ Sb and the concerned authorities to explore practical traffic management measures that uphold essential security protocols while ensuring uninterrupted passage for ambulances and minimising public inconvenience.
Security is paramount, but so is the well-
being of our people. Security and compassion must go hand in hand. Let governance be reflected not just in policies, but in the everyday lives of citizens through dignity, sensitivity and meaningful relief.
Art 370 was never an "IMPOSITION". It was part of the Constituition which mirrored the mutually agreed Instrument of Accession signed between Maharaja Hari Singh, erstwhile ruler of J&K and the Union of India. Both parties took around 6 months to reach to a concensus on IOA.
Such events are always welcome but should be limited to Sundays and public holidays. Closure of major roads during the working week & especially during exam times is an unnecessary inconvenience to students & parents not to mention the general population.

The Election Commission of India has told the Supreme Court that its key decisions on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls were taken unanimously. But does that answer the questions raised by The Indian Express investigation?

Why does this ring a bell?
Kudos to @JmuKmrPolice for exposing this culprit and bringing him to book.

Rakesh Handoo, a Kashmiri Pandit activist, has been arrested on allegations that he circulated material linked to terrorist threats against Kashmiri Pandit government employees.
This is particularly troubling given that Handoo himself had been vocal in raising the issue of threats to the community.
If the allegations are substantiated, this would be a grave disservice to a community already grappling with serious security threats. It would also risk undermining the credibility of genuine concerns raised by Kashmiri Pandits and those seeking to draw attention to their security and rehabilitation.

A year ago, #SulemanPathan was lynched by a mob that included his closest Hindu friends in Maharashtra’s Jamner.
The Supreme Court had recommended speedy six-month trials in such cases.
A year later, most of the accused are out on bail and the trial is yet to begin. The family faces threats and setbacks. Its hopes for justice are dissipating.

The successful conclusion of the 3rd edition of the Kashmir Marathon in Srinagar marks another significant milestone in Jammu and Kashmir’s journey towards becoming a premier destination for sports, tourism and international events.
With over 2,000 runners, including participants from 12 countries, competing in the full and half marathons for a total prize purse of ₹3.17 crore, the event showcased Kashmir’s growing appeal on the global sporting map.
The scenic route, winding past Dal Lake, majestic Chinar trees, the Zabarwan mountains and historic Lal Chowk, offered participants a memorable experience of Kashmir’s breathtaking autumn beauty. Alongside initiatives such as the new Chrysanthemum Garden, events like the Kashmir Marathon are helping extend the tourist season, strengthen the local economy and create new opportunities for hoteliers, transporters, artisans and other tourism stakeholders. The visiting athletes will also carry home enduring memories of Kashmir’s beauty, warmth and hospitality, becoming ambassadors for our tourism.
Over 1,200 local runners, supported by a dedicated ₹25 lakh prize category for J&K athletes took part in the Marathon. Competing alongside international athletes will inspire our young sporting talent to aim higher. The enthusiastic participation of children, senior citizens and para-athletes also reflected the inclusive spirit of the event.
The successful hosting of this international sporting event underscores Jammu and Kashmir’s growing capacity to host major national and global events, further strengthening its position as a destination of global sporting excellence.
