Just listen to this idiot. There really are people who think that police beating up kids is the best way to instill respect for authority. Absolute moron.
I stand with the officer. Come down hard on the feral youth and they wont grow up to be drug dealers, serial abusers and hardened thugs and criminals. In my time in policing, lax attitudes towards crime resulted in more youth committing much worse crime. Hard. Fast. Dominate.

“It is a tragedy that with five million unemployed, ten million on or below the poverty level, homelessness at an all-time high and our infrastructure in ruins, the Labour Party has sought to attack the progressive elements in its own Party and the Labour Movement rather than the Tories and the capitalist system which has led to this appalling economic and political situation.” Arthur Scargill July, 1995.

@soclp_uk argue corp profits generated from wartime energy crises are clear symptom of unchecked capitalism Under @soclp_uk style economic model, state would seize corp surpluses to fund mitigation of climate crisis & provide immediate relief to those hit by inflation & poverty
Profiteering from wars Nine big oil firms on track to share more than £95bn profit two quarters in a row. Causing inflation, poverty, misery, climate crisis all over the world, but they don't bear the social cost. More fossil fuel drilling on the way. theguardian.com/business/202…

@andyburnham @Ed_Miliband it occurs to me that if citizens can now be arrested for giving water or food to an anti genocide supporter there is actually nowhere for a government to hide when providing weapons, intel and political cover to those carrying out the genocide.
This is the point that you suddenly realise that our terrorism laws have got absolutely nothing to do with protecting us from terrorists, but actually to protect the terrorists; the ones currently conducting genocide in Gaza.

And @UKLabour have the cheek to call other governments... A REGIME. Andy Burnham's bootboys wrestling with little old ladies. If I were Iran, Russia or China I'd would sanction us. What a ridiculous embarrassing spectacle.

Read this. The Met Police are now making up their own laws, keeping those made up laws a secret and threatening you for breaking them, even though they won't tell you what they are. What do you even say to this?
I asked the Met to clarify if this indeed does mean they will arrest anyone passing their granny an Evian and a spokesperson said they were “not going to define the terms we’ve used in our press release beyond their plain English meanings”. The ambiguity is deliberate, I’d guess

It really does make my chest swell with pride to see our brave boys and girls in blue, putting their lives on the line, yet again to remove hardened, 94 year-old criminals from our streets. We can all sleep safe tonight. #sarcasm

The grip of totalitarianism tightens....
A Section 35 dispersal order will be in place in parts of central London from 8am to 11pm today. This is following information that a group are planning to attend an event and express support for a proscribed organisation, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act. The order will apply to the area outlined in the below map and means officers can order a person to leave the area or face arrest, where certain conditions apply. Updates on today's policing operation will be posted on this thread.

Every time an African country elects a government that tries to keep more of its own resources, Western media discovers a "democracy deficit." Every time an Asian nation builds technology that competes with Western products, Western governments discover a "security threat." Every time a Latin American country charts an economic path outside the Washington Consensus, Western financial institutions discover a "stability risk." The pattern is precise and it has been precise for two centuries. The West is not afraid of authoritarian governments. It has funded dozens of them. The West is not afraid of economic mismanagement. It has imposed structural adjustment programs that produced exactly that. What produces the alarm, the specific, urgent, editorial-board-meeting alarm, is independence. A poor country making its own choices with its own resources for its own people without asking permission. That is the danger. That has always been the danger. Everything else is the vocabulary chosen to describe it in ways that don’t require honesty.

👉🏿 I was born under a dictatorship and have spent a great deal of my adult life denouncing authoritarian regimes. I am deeply shocked to read the threatening statement issued by the Met Police UK. Threatening to arrest people for providing "logistical support" to peaceful demonstrators is the kind of threatening statement we are used to getting from the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship in Nicaragua. This is not what I expect from PM Andy Burnham’s Government. The UK is supposed to be a democracy, where freedom of speech is a pillar of society. Churchill’s words remind us that a true civilisation relies entirely on these liberties to maintain democratic accountability. Criminalising and proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation is a shameful authoritarian overreach. @metpoliceuk @TheBJHRF #FreedomOfSpeech #FreedomOfPress #HumanRights @DefendOurJuries #StopGenocideInGaza #DeproscribePalestineAction

If this doesn't make people realise the UK is a totalitarian regime, but then nothing will. Yet we are told to be scared of taken over by Russia. It's our own government we need to be afraid of.
Anyone planning to attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in the vicinity of the US Embassy on Saturday, 31 October will face arrest as part of a robust policing operation. Expressing support for the group is an offence under the Terrorism Act following its proscription in June 2025, a decision upheld by the Court of Appeal in June 2026. This is historic! Dockworkers across 5 continents and 113 ports are striking today to demand an end to their workplaces being used to transport bombs. This is what our rulers fear most: workers coming together to liberate humanity from capitalism and imperialism.
