Of course they are. Meanwhile the surrounding roads will be gridlocked. Well done Lord Khan - not!
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount. Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success. The only defence of floating bus stops and excluding blind people from their buses that the @MayorofLondon has, is that cyclists shouldn’t break the law. But the data shows there is almost zero enforcement! thetimes.com/uk/transport/ar… @laurencesleator

No it’s not. People need buses to travel and black cabs for accessibility. Removing them from the street will prevent access for all. It’s a backwards step.

Just like car drivers these cycling offenders need to be fined or arrested if names can not be verified…..

This was entirely predictable. Cyclists aren't going to want to waste time and energy diverting down the side streets with all the obstacles and traffic lights. As usual the impact of new travel restrictions hasn't been properly thought through.

They haven't just diverted buses from Oxford Street; they've actually cut back several routes across central London. Along with restricted access for cars, taxis and cyclists this is hugely inconvenient for large numbers of transport users, including those with mobility issues.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has destroyed access to Oxford Street for the old, disabled & infirm by banning traffic. London is being destroyed by Khan’s virtue-signalling stupidity

We are often faced with people telling us that cycle infrastructure works in the Netherlands. However this news item on 15/10/19 shows the reality. ‘This is what happens when a blind person wants to cross the street: ‘It’s absurd’. wnl.tv/2019/10/15/dit-gebeur…

Yet more ammunition against LTNs.
Lambeth Council's own report has found the West Dulwich LTN resulted in “no significant traffic reduction” but increased congestion on boundary roads. The courts found that the Council had acted illegally when installing it & ordered its removal. telegraph.co.uk/gift/fe78242…

This is the post that resulted in Labour MP Apsana Begum blocking me. No abuse. No swearing. No slurs. I simply questioned her priorities as a British MP and highlighted the embarrassing community note attached to her latest post about Bangladesh. The irony is remarkable. Labour politicians repeatedly complain about misinformation on X, yet here is one of their own MPs being publicly challenged through community notes. Rather than face scrutiny from a British voter, Apsana Begum decided to hit the block button. That speaks volumes about her ability to handle criticism. We have a generation of increasingly thin skinned politicians who seemingly cannot tolerate being questioned by the very public they are paid to represent. Being an MP is a position of public service. If you cannot handle criticism on social media, how can you be trusted to handle the pressures of public office?
Labour MP Apsana Begum is back on X talking about Bangladesh. Again. She's paid nearly £100,000 a year to represent her British constituents. Now her latest post has attracted a rather embarrassing community note, “Apsana Begum is a UK MP. Due to the huge amounts of posts about issues in Bangladesh it is important that her constituents realise she is supposed to be representing them.” Another Labour MP publicly embarrassed through X's community notes. Her constituents are entitled to ask where her priorities lie.

Puoi andare a spegnerla?» Ho sparato a tutti e sei.»

On World Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Day it's more important than ever for disabled people to be seen & celebrated. I'm thankful for everyone on here who is an ally. Disabled people are taking a real battering just now but we need to stick together & be proud of who we are. 💜
