On this 13th day, of the 13th anniversary of working in critical care, I find no better time to announce that my book, 13 Rules of ICU Nursing, is officially published and available for purchase of print or download.
This has been an absolute dream come true. Working with Kendall Hunt to pitch my vision of this book, was nothing short of incredible and I’m so thankful for their unending support.
In 2017, I jotted down 13 rules for all icu nursing as I saw it happening and had a vision of someday writing a book on them.
About the book: this book will not: tell you how to correct a potassium level, nor will it explain the pathophysiology of anything. This book will: provide so many other valuable insights, lessons and tools that are not only applicable to the student, but also to the new grad, and those with years of experience. There are so many stories I have pulled from my own experiences in life, both in and out of nursing, going as far back as high school (shout out to those district playoffs).
The book is full of color photos, highlights, 100+ pages and 13 full chapters of it all.
If you want to purchase, here is the link: he.kendallhunt.com/product/1…
If you choose to purchase the print book, and want me to sign it, I will drive, fly or hop on a boat to find you.
You can now find me in my author era.
❤️☠️❤️,
Nicole

We Started 4 Years ago and it was never about one election or saving America - we've always focused on the collective upliftment of Black women and the communities we serve. That doesn't not change. See you Sunday-
Blue bracelets are as much of an ick as wearing Pink is for breast cancer. You need to do more than wear a color for solidarity to create change.

A few beginning thoughts:
1) Algorithms should exist for political ads everywhere like community fact checks on @X. Including the ads on tv, YouTube, etc.
2) political surveys should be scrutinized as polling and sampling methods have changed and a high failure rate was seen in Iowa.
3) increased transparency over the election survey process is imperative as evidence-based science becomes an increasingly important topic in the next few months.
4) increasing transparency around this process and increasing the voice and opinion of all Americans will be pivotal for election cycles to come.

And it was amazing
This isn’t a concert. It’s the scene of thousands of people gathering in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania right now for VP Kamala Harris’s rally. People are dancing & singing & having an amazing time. Pennsylvania is not going back.

On a whim, I signed up to head to @VP @KamalaHQ rally. The vibes in line were immaculate. I’m absolutely FLOORED to be able to sit where the speakers will walk out. Now waiting for it all to begin. #womenforharris

At what point, during a pre-licensure program, did you start your critical thinking/clinical judgement/clinical reasoning skills?
“These deaths are the result not only of extreme conditions, but also of flawed logic embraced by the U.S. and other wealthy nations: that by making migration harder, we can limit the number of people who attempt it.”
The Darién Gap was once considered impassable. But American immigration policy has made hundreds of thousands willing to risk treacherous terrain, violence, and disease to cross it. @itscaitlinhd traveled the route to report on their experiences firsthand: theatln.tc/ACXG41Le

How nice of the Trump camp to help publicize Gov. Tim Walz's compassionate and common-sense policy of providing free menstrual products to students in Minnesota public schools! Let's do this everywhere.

This moment is so powerful beyond being an Olympic story.
1) Women who support and uplift other women are Queens beyond measure.
2) There are enough flowers to go around and when someone earns those flowers, give them.
3) Acknowledge when someone has done better than you.
4) Remember that you have the ability to improve if you want to, and, you drive the work necessary to do that.
5) If you find yourself being mad at this, check on yourself.
