LOOK: A minor phreatic eruption at Taal Volcano Island's Main Crater at 9:14 AM to 9:23 AM today, 22 October 2024, was captured by the thermal camera of the Daang Kastila Observation Station (VTDK), VTBC IP Camera at Buco, and VTAG IP Camera at Agoncillo, Batangas. Locally called as "pusngat," this event produced a 1,500 meter-tall plume that drifted southeast. Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano.

As dawn emerges over the Sangihe Islands, the aftermath of the relentless eruption of Mount Ruang becomes apparent. The volcanic activity, continuing through the night and into the early morning but now less vigorous, has ravaged the landscape. The slopes of the volcano lie barren, stripped of vegetation by pyroclastic flows, volcanic bombs, and tephra. Debris from the eruption has cascaded down the slopes, reaching the sea in multiple directions.

Eruption🌋 at Ruang volcano in North Sulawesi, Indonesia🇮🇩 today 17th April.
The alert level of the volcano was raised to level 3 yesterday. According to local news reports evacuation of people from the restriction zone was initiated before the onset of the eruption.
