People are pathetic. Take sports way too serious. This is what you get when folks can say whatever they want with no consequences. This is a very sad and scary part of our society.
It’s been a fun October.. excited to get to Halloween. Here’s a couple fun screenshots from this month. I don’t know if Karey from Derry is real or not but, the picture on the left is from a very real man in Ohio. I’ve stayed away from my mentions and DM’s this month since these back to back days but.. I’m sure if I went in there now, I’d find some wishes for and threats of death for me. “Don’t read them.” They’re everywhere. Annnd.. They still exist though right? I just don’t know the person is in Ohio then? That’s where I’m at now. So I do get a bit fucked up when a couple days after The New York Times releases a “WE ARE ALLOWED TO AND SHOULD HATE THIS GUY” piece, a University puts a video out from their own page, indicating “we think he’s a corny creep here.” It’s a weird time. The things that get said about what my daughter and son and wife deserve are all rather wild as well. I haven’t talked to anybody about what the days were like leading up to Tennessee’s GameDay last year. There’s been some misreporting but in the ball park articles. Everybody in the “security” world was worried of a copycat incident potentially happening. GameDay was a few days out and we were the next huge gathering on a campus. The world, in front of the entire internet, just proved that we had gotten to a rather extreme place. The FBI.. alongside, Disney security, Tennessee State Police, Knoxville PD, University Police, everybody in area, all had the very same goal to protect the shit out of the area. FBI snipers were sent down there, huge presence of police.. it was a surreal moment. The conversation about the death threats I had been receiving in life was definitely a huge topic. I don’t think it was the FBI that suggested the Bullet Proof Vest, but it was certainly an idea presented by one of the security groups. We had no idea what to expect. Nobody had been in that type of situation before. Everybody wanted the best for everybody. I never felt safer and never felt more appreciative of the people that were around me that morning including the students that came out and did WAY more than they could’ve ever imagined for my soul. How’d we get here? I had to wrestle with that a bit. FBI’s sending snipers so me and the lads don’t get shot. That’s crazy. I don’t know if they teach how you’re supposed to handle these types of things in classes or something but, I was a bit rattled by the current reality of my World. I think what I realized was, when I talked about the Algerian Olympic Gold Medal boxer, and then I was HEADLINE Quoted and Captioned by platforms with rather large influence over certain communities, they left out the massive empathy part of the conversation that I had about the entire subject. I was labeled and immediately targeted. Such is life I guess.. since then, every mistake, misstep or misquote relaunches A LOT of folks into a frenzy of me being the worst person on Earth who needs to be eliminated, and they gain more and more folks who want me unalived or as they actually say it “Kirked.” I was created on the internet. I’ve been “cooked” and shit talked and criticized since I have memories. I am no where near perfect.. and there’s no way everybody is gonna agree with me but I had no idea that this is just what life would become. I’m trying my best in real time but.. I am to talk about sports and care about the future of sports. I owe everything to sports. I’m grateful as hell to do what I do. I literally try to love every minute of the incredible opportunities I get to experience but.. it’s certainly all a much different life than I could’ve ever expected. I try to give everything I have, all the time.. I am very sorry to those that despise me. The video is how I opened The Tennessee show.. I put on a USA Sports Coat and celebrated Ball. I love sports because it’s unifying. That’s all I’m ever trying to be… actually. & Connor.. I LOVE YOU BROTHER, I’m sorry I’ve brought you lads into all of this as well.

Official at the next BYU football road game, "Pretty sure I just heard some Anti-LDS chanting." "It was the BYU fans in the crowd trying to draw a penalty." "How do you know?" "They were chanting 'Fudge The Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!'"

We deserve the fine. I can’t stand that stuff. Hopefully it will come to an end. Cheer, raz, have fun, but not profane chants. We are better than this.

I’ve seen more outrage from this fanbase over the new rule rather than being pissed about the hateful religious chants. What a world to live in.
Look I’m totally against religious hate in any form, but it’s crazy how BYU has made this into such a big deal that schools/teams can get FINED and even PENALIZED for their fans (who they have no control over) doing an “f- the Mormons” chant. Just wrong & ridiculous in my opinion

Oh yeah, well I hope that Sunday services return to the 3-hour schedule. 4 on fast Sundays.

As I’ve written before, a fine likely won’t resonate, but a 15-yard penalty certainly will. Credit the @Big12Conference for taking the right step. No perfect solution exists except for people to be more Christlike to their fellowmen and women.
The Big 12 has issued UCF a $100,000 fine after a review of the discriminatory chants directed at BYU during Saturday's football game at UCF. It also established a conference-wide policy, which is below.

How about we all agree that we hope the religious chants just stop now? Then we don’t have to worry about fines, penalties, points, etc., and we can go back to enjoying good ole normal trash talk and watch sports.

“Just ignore it” is quite literally the dumbest response. It happens all the time. So no, stupid students aren’t just forgetting about it. UCF is the first to kick kids out, which is awesome. But the “drunk kids will be kids” is not an excuse. You penalize the game, they stop
UCF did everything possible to combat this. I was there in that end zone when a couple dozen drunk students did chant it briefly. UCF had staffers ready to spot and eject those who were doing it, and the PA made an announcement at least 5 times (here's video, the yellow shirts were looking for chanters). BYU folks commented that UCF did more than any other school. When you make a big deal about it, this will virtually guarantee this continues to happen elsewhere. Everybody knows this is wrong. We don't need fines or press releases to understand that. Issue guidelines for schools to follow, similar to how UCF handled it. Eventually, drunk students will forget. This just perpetuates a never-ending loop of chants at every school BYU visits.

Jay Hill
Let's say Lincoln Riley gets the boot... Who is your first call if you're USC?
46
oh lovely
BYU missed a season-high 18 tackles against UCF while surrendering 170 rushing yards. A notable recent vulnerability for an Arizona State offense that just leaned on Cardae Mack for four rushing touchdowns.

Ya we know.
#Michigan DT Bobby Kanka calls DC Jay Hill a football genius and further added he has a knack for making the right calls all the time in the game. “He’s a football guy, for sure.”

I still think head to head should carry more weight than some, but I agree that the better wins (not just H2H) should trump the "better losses" but I think we've seen the committee and AP voters value the "good loss" for some reason. I like this argument and do agree with it
This is such a lame argument. The whole "head to head" response is so lame and tired. Make a REAL argument. Like this. Why is BYU ranked behind Notre Dame and Georgia? BYU has the best win of the three (#5 ND) and they also have a 2nd Top 25 win (#21 Arizona). UGA and ND do NOT have a second Top 25 win. ND has a better loss, but a better loss shouldn't trump two better wins. UGA also lost to an unranked, 4-3 team. That's a real argument, not a lame "head to head" argument. When you're 7-8 games into a season "head to head" should not be some lame trump card. If BYU beat Notre Dame head to head, but Notre Dame had 3 wins over a Top 25 team and BYU had just the one, ND should be ranked higher. It's not whose better one weekend, it's who is better on the season. Right now, BYU's resume is better than Notre Dame AND Georgia's ..... something people continue to ignore.

About 30 years ago, Tom Smart moved to a neighborhood near the University of Utah. "And there were parties," he said. "It's kind of a college town. But in the last — I would say — 8 years or so, it's just gone completely out of control." @natecarlisle kutv.com/news/local/im-actua…

Love Jay Hill. Miss him being at BYU
Michigan safety Mason Curtis on defensive coordinator Jay Hill: "To be honest, he helps us learn the game. It's not just about defense; it's about football. He takes us into the offensive coordinators' minds, tells us why they're running this, what they're looking at, who they're trying to put in conflict. He's just a smart coach."

So a couple tweets pop up with negativity about this, then I go check the comments and I’m like “huh?!?” First and foremost removing my bias of knowing Treyson his whole life, this is 100% biblically fine, and a beautiful analogy. When I first saw it didn’t surprise me at all, immediate “like” and just absolute pride in my guy for being so unabashedly open about his faith. Shocked to see the negativity of the responses, I mean it’s sports but mostly Utah fans…but man nothing makes me prouder than seeing T3 stand on business. Don’t waiver don’t back down, no apologies no corrections this is who you are offline and happy the world gets to see it. As well as seeing @Bijan5Robinson post about his faith unabashedly with his status and really all the kids that were amazing kids I was blessed to be around, turn into amazing adults! Stand on business @treysonbourguet because God never fails, God always comes first and God always provides….and I’m confident you didn’t even need me to tell you that. Proud of you man.
The disciples watched Jesus die on Friday, not knowing what Sunday would bring. What looked like the end was only the beginning. A reminder that some of life’s greatest blessings come after its darkest moments. Don’t lose faith in the middle of the story.

What’s worse, Exmo’s or self righteous LDS Ute fans? I’ll never understand the need to tell someone else they can’t attribute their very real life’s lessons to the atonement.
It’s pretty simple, don’t compare football games (or sports at all) to anything religious. They have pretty much nothing in common.

Unique thing with her being 14 hrs ahead. Talked to her last night, which was the start of her P-day, and then this morning, as she's winding down on her P-day. She was so much better this morning. I told her if she needs a good cry, lots a jungle around her. she is strong.
First P-Day call with my daughter. My heart man 💔 The emotions are at the surface for her. She’s been with a group of sisters and a welcoming companion that teaches them about diff things in the Philippines. Today she’s headed to her first area in Santa Cruz. Hate to see tears
