Thank you @LiveActionNews for covering this. The pro-life message knows no borders - life is valuable the whole world over, from conception with no exception.
EXCLUSIVE: UK pro-life leader says no matter the cost, 'we must stick to' pro-life convictions UK pro-lifer Isabel Vaughan-Spruce grew up in a Catholic household where human dignity was respected and lived, which led to her eventual involvement in the pro-life cause. Eventually, the local 40 Days for Life campaign gave way to a witness walk in Birmingham, England, which grew into March for Life UK, which she currently spearheads with friends and colleagues. She and her fellow pro-lifers stood outside abortion businesses offering life-affirming alternatives to women who were interested — and many were interested, according to Vaughan-Spruce. The UK began passing draconian laws against free speech outside abortion businesses, and Vaughan-Spruce was arrested for standing within an abortion business buffer zone on a day the business was not open, silently praying. For this, she was arrested. And the arrests and harassment against her have continued, despite certain victories. Vaughan-Spruce's legal team maintains that simply being present and praying quietly does not amount to a criminal offense. The purpose of the movement, according to Vaughan-Spruce, is not simply to prevail in debate but to touch hearts through truth and compassion. Read the full story at the link in our comments.

How ironic that laws allegedly to stop intimidation are being used to intimidate Christians! "Northern Ireland’s police force has even gone so far as to state that it could be a crime to merely carry a Bible through the public area of a hospital, lest it “influence” someone’s decision."

I'm sure everyone agrees this 16 year old needs a lot of help and support. But at 31 weeks the most dignified and humane option is to induce labour and let the child be born alive and then adopted? What's more traumatic, birthing a live baby or a dead one? indiatoday.in/amp/india/stor…

I was joined on @NEWSMAX by @Sean_ADFIntl to discuss why the UK is trying to criminalise silent prayer.

Today is the feast of St Philip Howard. Could he be patron saint of those going to court over their silent prayers? St Philip was accused of praying for the success of the Spanish Armada. He was sentenced to death for high treason but died after 10 years of imprisonment from dysentery and malnutrition. While in the Tower of London he inscribed in the wall "The more affliction we endure for Christ in this world, the more glory we shall get with Christ in the world to come".

Lord Sumption has suffered a surprising lapse in his usual commendable common sense. He doesn’t explain how an unexpressed thought causes discomfort or constitutes a 'demonstration' or how silent prayer, which by its nature is directed towards God, is 'directed' at people using abortion centres. He conflates shouting rowdy songs in a church with silenting praying on a public street. The distinction is precisely the point. The law should judge conduct, not thoughts. Common sense seems to have fallen silent here.
Can silent prayer count as harassment? Speaking at The Spectator's Free Speech Debate, Lord Sumption says a person should be allowed to engage in silent prayer provided it is not directed at 'vulnerable people outside abortion clinics'. Watch in full |youtu.be/GxPRt3yqdMs

I'm glad we have a free speech union but at this rate we'll also be needing a Free Thought Union.
A Christian woman has pleaded not guilty after being charged for silently praying outside an abortion facility in Birmingham. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce is the first person to face criminal charges under the UK’s buffer-zone legislation, which came into force in October 2024. She appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court for a preliminary hearing. The law prohibits people from influencing anyone’s decision to “access, provide or facilitate the provision of abortion services” within 150 metres of an abortion facility. It is a law that has also been strongly criticised by the Trump White House. Her lawyers argue that Ms Vaughan-Spruce was “singled out” and that the case is “incompatible” with her fundamental human rights. They say that, if her pro-life beliefs were not known, her presence in the buffer zone would not have been considered a criminal offence. The lawyers also argue that Parliament did not intend to “criminalise conduct of this kind” and that the legislation cannot interfere with the “absolute rights to freedom of thought and to hold a particular religious belief”. Ms Vaughan-Spruce has pleaded not guilty to all five charges. Read more from @GBNews below 👇

We are fostering intolerance in our neighbourhoods by treating Christians as though they are second class citizens. If it's a public street then Christians, as members of the public, are also allowed to be there. To say otherwise is discrimination. foxnews.com/media/christian-…

Absolutely! The fact that I've been persued for four years over this should be concerning to people no matter what their views are on abortion or Christianity.

If stating your views when they've been expressly asked for is causing harm or distress then we need to rethink what message we are teaching young people? That it's offensive to disagree with people? That hearing views contrary to your own is damaging? pressreader.com/uk/the-sunda…

I was initially arrested in 2022, who'd have thought that four years later the courts would still be investigating whether silent prayer on a public street is criminal.

"I have a place in God's counsels, in God's world, which no one else has; whether I be rich or poor, despised or esteemed by man, God knows me and calls me by my name. God has created me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission-I never may know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. Somehow I am necessary for His purposes, as necessary in my place as an Archangel in his -if, indeed, I fail, He can raise another, as He could make the stones children of Abraham. Yet I have a part in this great work; I am a link in a chain, a bond of connexion between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do His work; I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I do but keep His commandments and serve Him in my calling. Therefore I will trust Him. Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him; in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him; if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. My sickness, or perplexity, or sorrow may be necessary causes of some great end, which is quite beyond us. He does nothing in vain; He may prolong my life, He may shorten it; He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends, He may throw me among strangers, He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide the future from me - still He knows what He is about. Saint John Henry Newman (feast day Oct 9th)

🚨BREAKING: Isabel Vaughan-Spruce has pleaded "not guilty" to fresh charges for standing and silently praying inside a "buffer zone". The new charges were presented at an ongoing hearing, in which Isabel's legal team is arguing that her prosecution amounts to an "abuse of process" and breaches her human rights to freedom of thought and religion. The judge has also commented that “standing is not a crime" and "Courts are not here to pass judgment on people’s views.” UK censorship and thought policing must end.
