Nueva Ecija First District Rep. Mikaela Angela “Mika” Suansing turned emotional as the House approved the proposed ₱7.2-trillion 2027 national budget.
She previously called for greater transparency in government spending, yet the engineering office serving her district received the country's second-largest public works allocation at nearly ₱3.9 billion.
With that much public money inviting scrutiny, I'd cry too.

One just announced an equivalent Php 100k subsidy for 1,000,000 households to install solar. Total value: Php 100 billion.
The other just announced a record Php 1 TRILLION in budget insertions, leaving the door wide open to the same practices that gave us the Flood Control Scandal and Ghost Projects Scandal.
