Personally, I believe non-baby-making-sex is frivolous, so I don't hold my wives to sexual obligations past their fertile window.
However, another angle is that the man continues to have a sex drive. Therefore, the woman might have an interest in forming a cum dumpster around his dick in order to block alternative insemination targets.
A woman who denies sex after her fertile window is running the risk that her husband will inseminate a younger female. This is especially likely if he has social status.
