🇪🇸 The death toll from Spain's high-speed train disaster has risen to at least 46, with 179 people injured after two trains collided in the province of Toledo.
The latest figures mark a sharp increase from the 39 deaths reported earlier, as emergency crews continue responding to the crash.
The collision occurred shortly after 9 a.m. local time between Los Yébenes and Urda, with a Spanish rail operator describing it as a rear-end collision on the Madrid-Andalusia high-speed line.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, with authorities yet to establish how two high-speed trains ended up on a collision course.
