Mossberg just put 20 ROUNDS OF 12 GAUGE into a short-barrel shotgun. And I have questions. The Mossberg 590RM Chisel has an 11.5-inch barrel. Magazine-fed. Folding stock. AR-style safety. And a 20-round magazine that looks completely ridiculous hanging off something this small. It's like dropping a Hellcat engine into a Mini Cooper. It shouldn't make sense. But somehow it does. And here's the part I wasn't expecting. This thing genuinely made me feel like a kid again. Every time I picked it up, I kept saying the same word. COOL. Not sophisticated. Not revolutionary. Just cool. And sometimes that's enough. Here's my question: Would you choose a compact 20-round shotgun over a traditional tube-fed shotgun? And if you're loading 20 rounds… BUCKSHOT or SLUGS? Full review on my YouTube channel.

Researchers connected a living plant to a robot.. and it can now talks, walks, and knows what it wants. They call it “PlantBot” They took a living plant and fused it with a mobile robotic body. To connect them, they used a decentralized network of LLMs to act as the central nervous system. Here is the genius of it: Biological organisms and machines operate on entirely different planes. Historically, bridging them required rigid, low-level analog signal mapping. This paper entirely abandons that approach. Instead of hard-coding signals, the system translates everything, soil moisture, pH levels, temperature, and visual data, directly into natural language. The plant doesn’t just output data. It uses LLMs to "talk" to its robotic body. The architecture is wild: • A network of AI agents operates asynchronously to handle vision, sensing, and movement. • Multi-channel probes read the plant's health, while LiDAR and cameras scan the room. • The LLM translates these biological needs into physical actions in real-time. • The plant actually interacts with humans and navigates the world as a cohesive, autonomous entity. The LLM is no longer just a chatbot. It is a biological-mechanical translator. By mediating communication through natural language, they gave a houseplant autonomous agency in the physical world. We’ve been obsessing over AIs trapped in servers or humanoid robots mimicking people. We completely missed the possibility that AI might become the connective tissue bridging organic life and machines. The next era of artificial life won’t just be silicon. It’s going to be a hybrid.

🚨 WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL GOVERNMENTS PREPARING FOR? Something extraordinary is happening, and the timing deserves serious attention. 🇬🇧 UNITED KINGDOM: The British government has just launched an emergency preparedness campaign urging citizens to stockpile at least 72 hours of food, water, and essential supplies in case electricity, communications, and other critical services are disrupted. 🇺🇸 UNITED STATES: The Pentagon’s newly reported FORTRESS initiative aims to prepare every major military installation in the continental US to sustain essential operations for 90 DAYS WITHOUT OUTSIDE SUPPORT, including electricity, fuel, water, and communications. The planning explicitly considers a major war capable of crippling civilian power grids, breaking global supply chains, and threatening critical infrastructure on American soil. 🇮🇳 INDIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now publicly warned that modern wars are no longer fought exclusively with weapons. Entire nations can be weakened by attacking their economies, and their banking systems must be defended against cyberterrorism. 🇬🇧 BANK OF ENGLAND: Governor Andrew Bailey has warned G20 finance ministers and central bankers that advanced AI could dramatically amplify cyber threats, potentially endangering global financial stability. 🌐 IMF: The International Monetary Fund is sounding similar alarms about AI-enabled cyberattacks and the possibility of severe disruptions spreading across interconnected financial institutions.

Oh god f*ck, is this even possible? NVIDIA's new micro-robots just integrated the Grok Robot Brain Engine, and the live neural telemetry broadcast is genuinely terrifying Watch what happens in the live feed when the robot ("Alpha") trips over a cone and hits the floor. Instead of rigid pre-programmed recovery scripts, you can watch its synthetic brain adapt and re-calculate in absolute real time: • Live Neural Telemetry: Multi-node graphs track gait policies, spike rasters, and motor torque as the machine processes physical obstacles. • Autonomous Recovery: The moment a fall is detected, thousands of neural nodes fire simultaneously to calculate friction, torque, and balance locks until the robot stands back up entirely on its own. • Edge Cognition: Every step, stumble, and correction is generated live by a distributed neural network, completely bypassing traditional hardcoded robotics. We are no longer just building machines; we are watching synthetic nervous systems wake up in the physical world. Bookmark this before physical AI completely rewrites the entire robotics industry.

🚨 WARNING: SOMETHING EXTREMELY BAD JUST HAPPENED A U.S. startup has successfully produced the FIRST REAL LAB-GROWN GOLD. And its process already beat CERN’s gold production by 10X. And they are not stopping there. Their model says a future 1 GW fusion plant could produce around 2 TONNES OF GOLD PER YEAR. This changes everything: For thousands of years, gold had one advantage nobody could replicate: SCARCITY. New supply could only come from finding more deposits, building more mines and pulling more metal out of the ground. Now technology is attacking that assumption directly. And we have already seen what happens when technology destroys a scarcity premium. DIAMONDS. Lab-grown diamonds entered the market: - Production scaled. - Prices collapsed. Natural diamonds suddenly had to compete with something chemically almost identical that could be produced at a fraction of the cost. Gold could now be facing the same problem. But this could be much bigger: Gold is not just jewelry. Central banks hold it. Governments hold it. ETFs hold it. Investors use it as a store of value. And entire reserve strategies depend on one assumption: YOU CANNOT JUST MANUFACTURE MORE GOLD. That assumption is now being challenged. And here is the part almost nobody understands: Marathon is not talking about building factories that exist only to make gold. Gold could become a BY-PRODUCT OF FUSION ENERGY. The reactor generates energy. It also generates neutrons. Those neutrons can convert mercury into gold. And the gold itself could help make fusion plants more profitable. Now connect the dots: More fusion plants → more gold production → more gold revenue → better fusion economics → even more reactors Gold supply has always been limited by GEOLOGY. If fusion scales, it becomes limited by REACTOR CAPACITY. And markets will NOT wait until tonnes of lab-grown gold are sitting inside vaults. They will price the expectation first. That is exactly how the diamond repricing started. And if fusion gold becomes commercially viable at scale... THE GOLD MARKET WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. Remember, I’ve been trading markets for over 15 years. When I see the next major shift developing, I’ll post it here publicly like I always do. Turn notifications on. If you’re not following yet, you’ll understand why that was a mistake later.

You do not need an RF jammer or a cyber exploit to knock a drone out of the sky. In 2015, security researchers proved that playing an 8.2 kHz sound wave at an unprotected flight controller forces it to drop instantaneously. This is an acoustic resonance attack, and it exploits a mechanical vulnerability in the micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) inside consumer gyroscopes and hard drives. 1. The anatomy of a vibrating silicon spring Inside a drone's flight controller sits an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The core of that IMU is a MEMS gyroscope measuring less than four millimeters across. Inside the chip, a microscopic silicon proof mass is suspended above a substrate by silicon micro-springs. The internal drive circuit vibrates this mass back and forth at a known drive frequency. When the drone rotates along its pitch, roll, or yaw axis, the Coriolis force deflects the proof mass toward fixed capacitive comb fingers. The deflection shifts the electrical capacitance by fractions of a femtofarad. The chip's analog front-end converts this capacitance change into voltage, feeds it through an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), and passes raw angular rates to the flight controller over SPI or I2C. 2. The 8.2 kHz acoustic exploit Every physical structure suspended on micro-springs has a mechanical resonant frequency. In a 2015 USENIX Security study, researchers tested 15 commercial MEMS gyroscopes. Seven were vulnerable to acoustic resonance. Gyroscopes from STMicroelectronics (like the L3G4200D) resonated in the audible band between 2.5 kHz and 8.2 kHz along their X and Y sensing axes. When airborne sound matches that mechanical resonant frequency, the acoustic energy transfers directly into the silicon lattice. The proof mass vibrates with severe physical amplitude. The sensing comb fingers saturate the ADC to its maximum railing limits, feeding false angular rates into the flight controller. 3. Why the drone drops The drone's flight controller runs a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) loop at 500 Hz to 1,000 Hz to maintain level flight. When sound noise at 8.2 kHz hit the gyroscope, the sensor reported massive erratic rotation spikes. The PID control loop immediately tried to counteract rotation that did not exist. In real-world flight trials, the controller responded by throttling motors to their minimum and maximum limits simultaneously. The drone lost balance and dropped to the ground instantaneously on all 20 test flights. 4. The same physics in the datacenter In 2018, researchers at Michigan and Zhejiang demonstrated the same physical failure mode on enterprise hard disk drives. In a mechanical hard drive, the read/write head floats on an air bearing less than 10 nanometers above spinning magnetic platters, with track widths narrower than 75 nanometers. Playing an audible 5.0 kHz tone at 115.3 dB SPL caused tracking errors on Western Digital drives. Pumping that tone to 117.2 dB SPL forced off-track vibrations so severe that the drive firmware halted all write operations to prevent physical head crashes on the platters. With sustained acoustic noise, operating systems experienced complete I/O timeouts, remounting ext4 file systems as read-only. 5. The physical constraints and modern defenses Acoustic attacks have clear physical limitations: * Inverse square law: In the drone flight trials, researchers attached a small speaker 10 cm directly above the flight controller at 113 dB SPL. Projecting that sound pressure over 30 meters would require a 140 dB directional acoustic device (LRAD). * Axis isolation: Modern InvenSense gyroscopes resonate in the ultrasonic range (above 26 kHz) along the Z-axis only, which flight software easily counteracts by cross-checking magnetometer yaw data. * Mechanical dampening: Wrapping the IMU in dense silicone grommets or acoustic foam blocks airborne sound pressure before it hits the silicon package. * Asymmetric dual-IMU fusion: Pairing two gyroscopes with mismatched mechanical resonant frequencies (such as 8 kHz and 26 kHz) allows flight software to identify and drop the saturated outlier. Software algorithms cannot filter a corrupted sensor measurement if the silicon spring itself is physically vibrating.

This live demo of four Microducks with Jensen Huang went completely viral, and we're ecstatic about it. But there's also a lot of confusion, so I want to clarify what Microduck can and cannot do, and what it will realistically be able to do in the future. I count 60M+ views on this demo alone, based on the few big posts I see on social media, and everything has been buzzing. Even my own simple emotional design post on a newly created Instagram account got 1M+ views. We are selling Microducks at an incredible rate, even faster than during its historic launch. I've been trying to answer all the questions I see on our socials: people are asking if X or Y is possible on the robots, and this post aims to answer most of them. First of all, the demo you've seen was not fully autonomous. We had one engineer piloting each Microduck. The motions on the robots were trained with reinforcement learning, using a sim-to-real pipeline: walking, standing up after a fall, sitting, doing a somersault, roller skating. All of those are policies trained this way. What the pilots did during the live event was send commands: directions (move forward, rotate), head orientation (look here), quacks, and special actions (do the somersault, sit down). If you buy a Microduck, will you get an autonomous companion right out of the box? The current answer is no. But there is no impossible technical barrier to get there. I'm not sure how much time we'll have to work on this before shipping, but since everything is open source, I fully expect the community to build it, and to build it fast. Now let's understand what's already done, what will be easy to add, and what's an open problem. What you'll be able to do out of the box, and you can already do it in simulation right now, is train new policies with reinforcement learning. You could teach your duck to walk differently from the default gait we provide, to do a weird dance, or to walk on stilts. The community has been crazy creative with this, even though they only have the simulator. Note that you don't need reinforcement learning when the movements are simple. For example, the early emotional design I did is mostly coded movements plus pre-generated sounds. A simple mental model: use reinforcement learning when balance is part of the movement. If you try to code a cinematic walk by naively putting one foot in front of the other, your robot will realistically never walk, because you need to account for the dynamics of the movement, the inaccuracies of the sensors, the friction with the ground, and potential perturbations from the outside, like being pushed. So training new policies is definitely doable, but you can't train a policy to get a genuine long-term companion in your home (well, technically you could, but that's a whole other range of policy: a research-grade problem, and the resulting neural network would probably be huge and never able to run on such a small compute). Instead, you need a few more building blocks: voice recognition, facial detection/recognition, localization, some simple navigation, and a behavior layer, which is less technical and harder to describe. As a rule of thumb, a prototype of any of these is within reach of anyone if they have a modern coding agent and if the computation doesn't run on the robot (meaning the robot can reach the internet or an external computer and use external APIs). A rough prototype for each of the above can be a chill weekend project. As always, going from the prototype to a high-quality implementation is another story, but still doable for most if you put in the time and test a lot. However, having all of this run locally, on the onboard chip, I would call a very hard task. You'd need some very clever engineering to get a good enough version of everything working together. But I can't say it's impossible, because I've seen some crazy efficient implementations of all of the above. And here we don't need a super high success rate: it's okay if the duck sometimes does something a bit random. So I wouldn't be surprised if folks managed a fully local, cool, simple version of this autonomous companion. For example, you don't need Whisper-grade open-vocabulary transcription: being able to recognize a few keywords would already be great for interaction. One of the fastest ways to turn this robot into an autonomous companion would be to stream Microduck's sensors (the camera, the depth sensor, the IMU and the joint positions) to a computer, and use a software stack like the one we use for the conversation app on Reachy Mini: a local VAD, then a cloud speech-to-text model, then a call to a frontier LLM that decides on actions. Actions could be quacking, looking at things/faces/a direction, walking to a given position, sitting down, playing an emotion, kicking or doing a somersault. A SLAM algorithm would run in parallel so the robot can localize itself in your home, and you would prompt the LLM for a lifelike behavior: moving to random places, sometimes following people, and having emotional responses that fit what you're saying and the duck's environment. Of course someone is going to build a Tamagotchi-like layer on top of this, and it will be insane. How much demand is there for a software suite that would do all of this? I for one think it would be super cool. A word about the humans. We had five engineers backstage, and they are pretty much the core team behind Microduck. Their impact per head is absolutely off the charts. Antoine Pirrone piloted Graphite, Augustin Crampette Lavender (the rebel one), Matthieu Lapeyre Sky, Coralie Deplane Cream, and Pierre Rouanet was stressing over the Wi-Fi. Give them a follow! (Antoine @antoinepirrone, Augustin on LinkedIn, Matthieu @matth_lapeyre, Coralie @Drenaya_, Pierre on LinkedIn). I get visibility because I communicate a lot, but I mainly work on Reachy Mini (you might want to check it out: it's a very cool robot, and it ships much faster than Microduck :) ). My contribution to Microduck has been minimal: I'm mostly a first power user. My main added value at GTC was having hands big enough to carry four Microducks below the stage. Where I take pride is that Antoine and Coralie are former students and former interns of mine. I'm therefore entitled to 3% credit on anything (good) they do, for life. If they do something bad, however, it was clearly the fault of their parents. About the super smart engineering that can be done on board: Antoine just released two very cool blog posts (links below). The first is on odometry, the robot estimating its own movement from its own internal sensors. The second is about SLAM, which allows long-term localization: it adds the depth sensor to the odometry to get a stable position over time. Think of it as recognizing known landmarks in your home to know where the robot is. The crazy part is that all of this runs on the robot. So this gives me hope that we'll be able to do a lot of cool stuff on board.

If you just listen to this fool, he traps himself in so many lies. At some point, either just say, yeah, it was me. Or stop talking. And I'm quite surprised that the cops didn't show up for this one. He usually has them in tow. Regardless, internet exposure, arrest, registering, being broadcast on MSM, doesn't seem to be a deterrent for these preds. And light jail sentences dont work either. We need to isolate an island, maybe in the Marshall Islands where all the Atomic tests were ran, and move them all there. Let them run rampant on one another, far from all of us.
