I don’t think Ed Balls has anything to worry about just yet but I must admit, the @GMB hot seat was rather comfortable!

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month although judging by the headlines, I’m not sure we really needed reminding this year 😅

Really like this. Makes it really easy for “normies” to know quickly if that company is calling them. Open app, it knows you’re on the phone, says “it’s not us” Simple.

Multiple banks (Lloyds, Revolut, Bank of Scotland and HSBC) are down for some users. This looks like a Google Cloud issue. Importantly, your money in Revolut will be safe - this clearly isn't a hack on them and the issue lies with a third party. downdetector.co.uk

This is why people shouldn't keep all their money in one app, no matter how convenient… although saying that, I wonder if I could specify my banks on their cloud providers 🤔

I took 45 flights this year (with another 22 to go), 27 of them were long haul. Here's the travel advice everyone gives that I think is rubbish 🧵

It was lovely to be on @BBCRadio4’s You and Yours show today discussing stolen cards and how they are tested on small firms to see which work … but sadly, maybe for the last time?! bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0032q…

The #asos attackers have uploaded their proof of stolen data in the breach to their telegram site. (Redacted by me, not them) 14GB of it apparently! That’s huge. Also that meme? 🤔

🚨 🇺🇸 Cybersecurity expert charged in alleged $19 million ransomware remediation fraud scheme Zohar Pinhasi, 50, the owner of Florida based cybersecurity company MonsterCloud, has been charged with allegedly defrauding businesses seeking help after ransomware attacks. Prosecutors say Pinhasi, also known as “Zack Silver” and “Zack Green,” claimed his company could recover encrypted data using proprietary technology without paying attackers. Instead, he allegedly negotiated with the cybercriminals, secretly paid their ransom demands and charged clients substantially more. In one case, MonsterCloud allegedly paid an attacker about $8,200 before billing the victim approximately $150,000. The Justice Department says Pinhasi collected more than $19 million from clients while making over $8 million in ransom payments. He was arraigned in Brooklyn on October 7 after being indicted on two counts of wire fraud and one count of wire fraud conspiracy. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison if he is convicted. Source: justice.gov/opa/pr/known-cyb…
