Israel wasn’t the only new state recognised by the United Nations in 1948. It wasn’t even the only new state that year which resulted in human displacement. But it’s the only state western leftists debate dismantling and erasing today. For that there is a word.
“I don’t think any state has a right to exist" Green Party leader Zack Polanski says he “supports whatever the Israelis and Palestinians need to live side by side with equal rights” when asked whether he supports a two-station solution #BBCLauraK bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

Obviously unwise to build without planning permission, but very silly we have a system that doesn't make it trivially easy to get permission for it, considering a) clear need b) it's just replacing a garage that was already there c) the neighbour seems to have an identical one?!
A mom who spent £170k building an annexe for her disabled daughter has been ordered to demolish the structure after council officers deemed it 'unacceptable'.  Clair Birch from Worcester had the two-storey building erected but neighbours claimed it was just metres away from their homes & without - <sigh> planning permission. After losing an appeal, she now faces having to demolish the building within six months or make drastic changes to comply with Worcester City Council's demands. Plans for a one-bedroom annexe, which replaced an existing garage at the property, were retrospectively submitted last year which was refused & a subsequent appeal was dismissed too. 🥴

When a block of flats in Singapore gets old, its owners can vote to sell the whole building to a developer, who rebuilds it with more homes on the same site. 🚨TODAY: A new article on how Singapore lets flat owners VOTE to build more homes. It's called 'en bloc' 🧵

NEW: How the push to ban data centre construction in Britain is based on sloppy research. One paper widely cited in the media and by the Green Party contains multiple howlers: - It claims that a single data centre will be responsible for 8% of the East of England's water shortfall. This is wrong by a factor of almost 100. - It suggests data centres are to blame for England's predicted 5bn litre daily water shortfall. Yet under the most water-hungry assumptions, new data centres would account for less than 3% of it. Under more realistic assumptions, it's just 0.5%. - It compares global AI water withdrawals with British household water consumption. But these are completely different things. Most withdrawn water is returned to its source. The comparison exaggerates AI's water footprint by around ten times. - It repeatedly uses worst-case estimates of data centre water consumption, ignoring that many data centres use little or no water for cooling. One of its sources is literally titled Overestimating AI's water footprint. The real cause of Britain's water shortages isn't data centres. It's our failure to build reservoirs. samdumitriu.com/p/will-data-…

Great to see these ideas on the front page of the Yorkshire Post today. Devolution must go beyond funding. Mayors need the powers to approve, regulate and deliver the projects that will transform their communities. Read the full article below!
NEW REPORT: Spanish Practises How can we give mayors the powers they need to deliver growth? Our new joint report with @BritishProgress sets out how mayors could unlock housing, infrastructure and regeneration by giving them greater control over planning, regulation and funding. It's time to take devolution from funding to delivery. Read the full report here- thinklabour.co.uk/thinking/s…

The most antisemitic motion ever put forward via a democratic vote at a British political party conference is about to pass by a large majority. The limited safeguards amendment lost by a large margin. It seeks to put an ideological and networks purity test in front of every Jew.

In just a matter of time, Jews in the Green Party will be at risk of being kicked out of the party for attending their synagogue. This is happening in our country and it should terrify us all.

Asking Jews to pass a purity test and renounce self-determination according to a perverse interpretation arbitrarily applied, isn't just an extreme position, it’s a racist one. That’s before we consider the Green party is now backing violent dismantling of Israel.
