1/2 Day 1 of new account... Current portfolio: £58,478 Down over £5,100 (-9%) this past month, but the eyes are firmly on the prize. The goal is a £1M+ tax-free ISA in 5-10 years, and I think £100k isn't too far away. Here is how a 35y/o UK investor got here... 👇 (1/2)

Fine, if you're going to make me add another £250 at these levels... I also want to top up my $AMZN position- tempted to chuck another £250 in there as well.

Elon warns debt is drying up for AI-dependent data-centre builders. That's not the same as all AI funding disappearing. AI project-finance debt reached $106bn this year vs $37bn in 2025 (Goldman/Axios). AI also took 64% of Q3's $159bn global VC funding. Those figures predate his recent warning, and equity isn't debt. My read: financing is getting more selective. For chips, watch weaker buyers' orders and whether hyperscaler spending holds up.

Gm all, Decent recovery overall, still a long way to go to get back to and beyond where we were in September. Another £250 add today, need to top up. Any guesses what I'm adding to today?

I've been thinking about the maths on ownership vs leasing with the rising fuel prices ⛽️ Here is my cost breakdown personally to upgrade to a Tesla Model 3 from 2 older cars. That's right we dropped from 2 cars to 1 Deposit £2,200 up front Lease £248 p/m Charging - £10 p/m (max) Tesla premium connectivity - £10 p/m (optional) Insurance £40p/m Home charger - £50 p/m this lease - will be zero effectively after this lease is up. Bus fare (1x per week to office) - £25 p/m So total inc deposit = £475 approx all in We used to run 2x ICE vehicles owned (rough averages) Car 1 - main family car. 71 plate Sokda Fuel = £100 per month Mot/ Service/ Repairs = £50 p/m (£600 p.a) Rough Depreciation = £50 p/m (£600 p.a) Tax = £20 per month Insurance = £25 per month. Rough cost £245 Car 2 - runaround 63 plate Corsa (horrible car to drive) Fuel = £50 per month Mot/ Service / Repairs = £50 p/m (£600 p.a) Depreciation = £0 (negligible as older car) Tax = £20 per month Insurance = £25 per month. Rough cost £145 All in about £390 pcm. So our outlay is roughly the same and the car equity was banked from both cars also just over £11k.. This is just the numbers for us as a family but wanted to give some insight to my thought process. Would you make the same trade if you could manage on 1 car?

Here are my night time costs last week for charging overnight.. £2.11 (some costs also running household appliances) That same amount in fuel?? Probably £50-60 minimum! Savings are undeniable 💰
Almost 1 month since collecting the Tesla and I can safely say its the best car I have ever driven... The software is absolutely top notch and so intuitive. I honestly will feel like I'm back in the stone ages driving anything else now 😅 It's probably costing £5-10 per month to charge on average. And the only time I had range anxiety was my initial pick up from 28% charge back home with 11% left. This was primarily just down to it being my first journey in the car. Anyone else considering getting a Tesla or already own one? Drop any questions below, if you are thinking about it! Happy to share more thoughts below!

The clocks go back an hour in the UK later tonight, but it's worth reminding people that the clocks will not be put back in the US for another week. Therefore if you are based in the UK, the US markets will open one hour earlier than usual at 1.30PM local time, and close one hour earlier at 8PM for the next week, before going back to normal the week after. This is something that catches me out nearly every time, so I'm posting this as a reminder to myself as much as anything. 🙂

Morning all ☕️ 😊 Taking my eldest daughter to one of her class mates parties today. Got here a bit too early... 😅😅😅 No problem with a Tesla, we can just chill 😎 in the car and put some shows on for my daughter! One of the many underrated perks!
