Even figuratively, never mind literally, this is not only pathetic sycophantic dumbassery, it is unpatriotic. America was not in danger of ceasing to exist in 2015. And to believe otherwise is to have a repugnantly low opinion of America.

"Hey RINO, John McCain and Mitt Romney couldn't even win Ohio".
Yeah, well Trumpism lost us Texas, South Carolina, and Mississippi.
Sit down.

Fuck DeSantis. I’m a big Mitt Romney fan. I’ve told this story before but I’ll tell it again. A DSS agent, Steve Sullivan, was killed in Mosul, Iraq. His funeral was in Worcester Massachusetts. The funeral was about to begin, when Governor Mitt Romney walked in. No security, no staff. He just came in and sat down in a pew. Senior agents rushed over to bring down to the front of the church. He waved them off. Wanted no special treatment. He said he just came to pay his respects. So when I hear people like Ron DeSantis talking shit about him, it makes me crazy.

In addition to the obvious anti-corruption measures like banning stock trading by members of Congress and limiting self- and family-dealings in government business, we should also consider applying the general principle that limited government is more difficult to corrupt.
And if we aren’t going to shrink government, we should at least start to rethink each place where our laws currently grant administration officials sweeping and unfettered discretion to make case-by-case regulatory decisions that result in immense and immediate economic gains/losses for particular parties.
Prison and penalties will help deter the crooks, but we can also limit their opportunities.

Bad policy, bad character make bad politics: erratic tariffs, impulsive Iran war, blanket pardons, apparent corruption, weaponized justice, ICE brutality, mountainous deficits, hiding Epstein, abandoning allies and coddling enemies. Hoping for a course correction, for the country and for my party.

Big congrats to Trump’s national security team @SecRubio @SecWar @marcthiessen for an Iran War policy that was so monumentally stupid that they have unraveled the entire Republican coalition. Heckuva job fellas!

Republican leaders, you sold your souls to Trump for NOTHING.
You gave up decency/morality AND gave up electibility.
Now is the time to fully course correct and excise the Trumpist cancer from the GOP.

The voters have spoken, and I want to extend my congratulations to James Talarico on his election to the U.S. Senate. I look forward to meeting him and offering my assistance with his transition as he prepares to serve Texans in the U.S. Senate.
