Good News For Tonight's Big Game. There may be some drizzle or very light rain, but most likely it is not a big factor. The radar trends point to a dry and perfect night for football. What do you think the final score will be? My prediction: Chiefs 27 - Seattle 23. It may be a nail biter! Go Chiefs! The Kansas City Chiefs #ChiefsKingdom

🌪️ A MASSIVE CHANGE IN THE WEATHER PATTERN — THE NEW LRC IS EVOLVING BEFORE OUR EYES! Goooooooooood evening! Something fascinating is happening in the atmosphere, and I want to share it with you! A massive change in the weather pattern began taking place earlier this month, and tonight we are watching an impressive storm system spinning over the Pacific Ocean, centered approximately 538 miles west of Seattle! Look at the incredible circulation in this water vapor satellite image. What does this storm tell us about the winter ahead, the year ahead? Join me Monday morning (and every weekday morning) at 8:30 AM Central Time on LezakWeather.com, Facebook, and YouTube as we discuss the developing weather pattern and the new LRC (Lezak's Recurring Cycle). For those of you new to my weather discussions, here is something that may change the way you think about weather forecasting: 🌎 The weather pattern is cycling! The LRC is based on the hypothesis that the large-scale weather pattern becomes established each fall and then repeats, with variations, on a somewhat regular cycle through the seasons. At Weather 20/20, we have developed patent-pending technology using this cycling pattern to help predict when and where significant weather events may occur months into the future — potentially a year ahead. And YES, we are also watching the developing Super El Niño! But remember, El Niño is only one part of the equation. The LRC may help us understand how the larger atmospheric pattern evolves and what that means for rainfall, snowstorms, drought, and extreme weather. 📖 If you would like to learn more about the science behind my research, including the 2015–2016 Super El Niño, I published a peer-reviewed paper in 2018: Cycling Weather Patterns in the Northern Hemisphere: 70 Years of Research and a New Hypothesis iomcworld.com/open-access/pc… We are watching the new LRC develop right before our eyes. The atmosphere is giving us clues about the months ahead! ☕ Join me Monday morning at 8:30 AM Central Time for Good Morning Coffee with Gary Lezak! 🌐 lezakweather.com/live ▶️ youtube.com/@LezakWeather What do you think this developing pattern means for our winter? More snow? Less snow? Let's discuss in the weeks ahead. Our winter forecast will not come out until we complete the first cycle of this year's pattern, which is in progress now. Have a great evening! #LezakWeather #Weather2020 #LRC #LongRangeForecasting #WinterForecast #ElNino #WeatherScience #WeatherPattern #GaryLezak

Gooooooood evening! Jeff Penner just had an in-depth look at the developingTropical Storm, what will be named Isais. Try to say that name? The new LRC is beginning, and new things begin happening right now. This developing tropical storm, which likely will become the first hurricane of the season in the Atlantic Basin, is likely going to be Exhibit A of this year's LRC. youtu.be/PDqMeLXckI0 We are now at the very beginning of the new weather pattern that will influence our weather for the next year. In today’s Weather 20/20 Intelligence Report, I show you the changes already happening, the developing Super El Niño, and some fascinating clues about the winter ahead. Here is the link: weather2020.substack.com/p/t… We’re also now going LIVE on YouTube every day with Jeff Penner and me! WEATHER UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 29, 2026): The first of several rounds of rain and thunderstorms arrives between 2 PM and 3 PM. A more widespread rain and thunderstorm are is likely 5-11 PM. The last round of rain and thunderstorms will move through Thursday afternoon. The severe threats are very low. But, we will have to watch for flash flooding. 1"-2" of rain is likely for all locations between today and Thursday. There will be some locations that see 2"-4" or more as well. Right now it looks like the heaviest will be just northwest of KC. But, as I always say, the heaviest zone can shift south or north by as much as 50 miles. @Weather2020

WEATHER UPDATE (9/18/2026): We have a BIG change in the weather this Chiefs weekend as we are tracking a decent cold front and chance of thunderstorms. Let's go through this. TODAY: Still hot, still mostly sunny with highs around 95. TONIGHT: Dry, warm and humid with lows around 75. SATURDAY UNTIL 3 PM: More sun and heat with highs again around 95. SATURDAY (3-9 PM): T-Storms will likely form from around Topeka to Wichita 3-5 PM. Some of these may be severe with 60 mph wind and quarter sized hail. 5-9 PM will see these track east into the KC area. Some T-Storms may contain 60 mph wind & quarter hail. SATURDAY NIGHT (AFTER 9 PM): The rain and thunderstorms will decrease and end around 1-3 AM. Some locations may see 1"-2" of rain while others see under .10". SUNDAY: It will start to feel more like football weather. It will be mostly cloudy with a chance of a few periods of scattered areas of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be 70-75! Temperatures may get to 80-85 just south or southern KC by noon before all locations drop to the 70s. So, if there are no rain areas around Arrowhead, it will be nice & comfortable for tailgating as temperatures drop from the low 70s to upper 60s. SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: The Chiefs kickoff at 720 PM against the Colts. Temperatures will be in the 60s for the game with a slight chance of showers. Keep in mind, during these hot days it has been around 85 during the evening. So, this will feel really nice, even a tad cool. Have a great weekend. Stay healthy GO CHIEFS! @Weather2020

Quite a light show as a strong thunderstorm approaches Overland Park from the south. Torrential rain, 30-50 mph wind gusts and possibly some hail can be expected as the thunderstorm tracks north at 10-15 mph. Flash flooding is not out of the question if this maintains. Several rounds of thunderstorms are possible through the night. @Weather2020

WEATHER UPDATE (9/15/2026): We have an interesting weather day ahead as some locations will see torrential rain with possible 30-60 mph wind gust and hail. Other locations won't see a drop of rain. And, of course, the cutoff line is near Kansas City. The south edge of the thunderstorms will be determined where a cold front drifting south becomes stationary. along and north of the front is where the thunderstorms will occur, south of the front is where the chance of thunderstorms drops off fast. Here is a timeline: NOW-3 PM: Mostly sunny, hot and humid with highs 90-95. 3-5 PM: T-Storms will start forming, most likely southwest of KC across southcentral Kansas. They will then head this way. 5 PM TODAY-8 AM WEDNESDAY: Several rounds of T-Storms from around I-70 and points north. Locations to the south may see a few thunderstorms. Temperatures will drop to the 60s and low 70s tonight and in T-Storms. Some area will see 3"-5" or more of rain while others see nothing. The rainfall forecast map below is just one solution. The southern edge of the rain can shift north or south by 25-50 miles. WEDNESDAY AFTER 8 AM: The T-Storms will exit to the northeast. It will become a partly cloudy, warm and humid day with highs in the mid 80s. THURSDAY-FRIDAY: These days look mostly dry, hot and humid with highs 85-95. T-Storm chances will increase over the weekend. @Weather2020
