It was actually our 250th anniversary.
Not that you would know — you spent it with the British.
Paxton: On July 4th, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of our country.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
July 4 2026 marked the 250th anniversary of US independence not the 200th as claimed in the video. Multiple reports placed Paxton in London England that weekend with videos of the trip.

Lowering the Medicare age to 50 would cost $180 billion a year. That's $70 billion less than the budget increase the House passed for the Department of War.
We could have healthcare over warfare.
I'm proud to cosponsor @RepJayapal's bill to lower the age from 65 to 50.

Ohio, let's do what we can to elect @AmyActonOH as your next Governor and @SherrodBrown as your next U.S. Senator! They’ve dedicated their lives to fighting on behalf of all Ohioans.
If we’re willing to organize and mobilize, if we’re willing to turn out in big numbers in Ohio and across this country, if we’re willing to vote for change and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot, then this election might just mark the moment this country began moving in a better direction.
So make a plan to vote today at IWillVote.com/OH.

I swear SOMETHING broke in society since 2020 and nobody wants to talk about it.
And I’m not talking about masks, lockdowns, or COVID. I mean the FEELING of life.
Everything reopened. We went back to work. Restaurants filled up. Events came back. But somehow life still feels… different.
Years disappear faster. People feel more disconnected. Everything feels more expensive, stressful & rushed.
And somehow we’re all constantly exhausted. I can’t even explain exactly what we lost. I just know life before 2020 felt more ALIVE.
Tell me I’m not the only one who feels this.

There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

Hey farmers! We really do love you and appreciate what you do. But we're tired of bailing you out because you keep voting for the guy whose policies are failing you.
STOP DOING THAT!

Despite childhood abuse, poverty, and homelessness, Amy Acton became a doctor and public servant. Vivek Ramaswamy became a billionaire and somehow still managed to be the poorer example of human character.

People aren't just TIRED. They're grieving the lives they thought they'd be living by now while trying to survive a reality that keeps moving the finish line.

Amy Acton’s mother stayed married to Amy’s rapist until the day he died. Republicans just paid her to star in an attack ad. Everyone involved should be fired and cast out of polite society. Fucking ghouls.

As a woman I am extremely aware that the reason I have my rights is because a woman somewhere got up, got MOUTHY, organized, raged, made herself INCREDIBLY inconvenien until things changed for the better for all of us. Which is precisely why I see women who uphold the patriarchy as traitors to all women.

Just watched a video of a grown woman saying “Like so many of us I grew up watching The Price is Right with Drew Cary” and my bones turned to ash and blew away.

Many on the left suspected this was the case, but it’s still wild to see the WSJ confirm it.
Needless to say, stripping the citizenship of opposition elected officials is really, really far down the road to fascism.
New: The federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar aims to build a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her, according to U.S. officials and others familiar with the probe wsj.com/politics/policy/ilha… via @McCormickJohn @MHackman @sgurman
