Janet Howell was a lioness of the legislature, a wonderful person, and a role model for all women who served in the General Assembly.
I was so lucky to call her a mentor and genuine friend. My thoughts are with everyone who had the privilege to know and love her.

Gerry Connolly was a friend and a mentor to me, someone who I could always count on to have my back and be by my side. I’m devastated by his death.
Northern Virginia lost a true champion today.
My heart goes out to his family, staff, and the people of #VA11.
Cecile Richards was a fierce champion for women and girls. She inspired and was admired by so many — myself included.
