Young Cdns can already study, work & travel. We already have tons of trade agreements with EU & individual countries. Improve our sovereignty by tying us more closely to a bunch of failing economies & failing societies? C'mon. This is Carney's vanity project for his own future.
In a couple days the Canada-EU Summit will be held in Montreal to move Canada towards an Associate Member...but there are some interesting things happening.
Quebec Premier Paul St-Pierre Plamondon was banned from speaking at the Summit.
France, Germany and other key EU countries are pushing back against Canada's joining the EU as Associate Member. These are our biggest allies.
Mark Carney promotes it as:
> Give young Canadians opportunities to study, work and travel.
> More opportunities for Canadian businesses.
> Canadian researchers will have more depth of opportunities.
And somehow being tied to the EU will make Canada " a more independent, more sovereign nation". How?!
The reality is that Canadian youth and businesses already have access to all these relationships and opportunities with the EU.
So what is this really about??

Calgary’s new homes sold for 1.9 times their build cost, says the Fraser Institute. Close, but it misses a big piece. In my experience, red tape and policy add 20% to 35% to a new home, depending on the city and province. Nobody moves into a permit. It's time for a review and elimination of red tape and policies affecting housing affordability.
New homes in Canada are selling for 1.7x their construction cost on average – but in Vancouver, that gap jumps to 4.7x. Read more: fraserinstitute.org/studies/… #cdnpoli

There is a narrative out there that the current federal government has dramatically cut immigration. It’s false.
The average annual permanent immigration level under Trudeau (2016-2025, excluding the anomalous COVID year of 2020) was 381,000.
The new government has frozen annual levels at … 380,000.
Yes, it’s about 100,000 less than the highest Trudeau year (2024), BUT it’s still about 100,000 higher than the highest Harper year.
“Last year, the government said it would freeze the number of new permanent residents at 380,000 a year until 2028. It also cut the number of international students it planned to admit over the next three years in half.”

Sgt. Morgan Wong, one of four soldiers tragically killed at CFB Wainwright earlier this month, was laid to rest in Edmonton over the weekend.
Sgt. Wong's sister spoke at his funeral:
"Long before he was the fearless soldier many of you came to know, he was one of the bravest and funniest people I’ve ever met. He was always making us laugh and he could always find a solution to any problem."

Since January 2023, Canada's population has grown by 2.5Mn. This growth is driven overwhelmingly by newcomers. During that time, private-sector employment has grown by only 800k.
This is not a sensible way to run an economy. D'uh!
Notice he didn’t finish that phrase with “for the better.”
Carney’s Brave New World will be one of severely constrained choice, more poverty:
“Assets will be stranded, used gasoline powered cars will be unsaleable, inefficient properties will be unrentable,” he promises. 1/2

Watch this exchange regarding immigration coming in from the EU if this “Associate Membership” goes through.
Our immigration minister Lena Diab is sitting in the HOC but isn’t allowed to answer questions regarding immigration?
Instead we get some Pro EU trade propaganda from Sidhu and MacKinnon.
This should worry everyone. They are clearly keeping the truth from Canadians.
Cdns still have no idea what Carney’s personal ambition will cost them & 🇨🇦 sovereignty. It was HE who declared 🇨🇦 the most European country; HE declared himself a European. He ran his election, & scuttled a trade deal w/ the 🇺🇸 on the premise to protect our sovereignty. 1/2
We still have 10 of 27 EU member states who have yet to ratify the free trade deal with Canada.
Should we be surprised that half of the countries aren't sure about offering us associate membership?
Oh yeah, and the EU summit starts Thursday in Montreal.

One of the many reasons Europe will fall behind on AI and supercomputing infrastructure:
- used green alarmism to offshore energy dependency to Russia and Qatar, spent hundreds of billions on state subsidized ‘renewables’ made in China that fail to provide baseload power.
- now euro households spend way too much for basic heat and air conditioning and cooking
- and the Chinese - who massively expanded global emissions by more than the Europeans reduced it - lead Europe on low cost energy outcomes in manufacturing and computing power.
Europe has resources but green alarmist ideology has made the entire continent poorer and more dependent on Russia, Qatar, and China.
