I hope this pays off for the Spanish left - responding to national fury over rent hikes & evictions & the right blocking measures to protect renters… All the solidarity in the world with Spanish progressives working to stop yet another European country turning hard right

At school, the way my adhd mind naturally worked was treated as defective. I had to perform another kind of mind to be accepted.

Polanski has also called for expelling US troops from British soil The only other leader of a major party to do so was Michael Foot in 1980s Trust me: these are redlines guarded religiously by the British establishment The Greens are now a threat to the smooth running of the war machine

Palantir have just bought themselves a Labour Lord with close links to the Labour government. No other word to describe this other than corruption. How can Watson remain a member of the House of Lords and keep the Labour whip?

I wrote last year about the ‘Integrity gap’ in UK politics as part of the Robin Cook memorial lecture. “The public see a political class whose proximity to wealth has corroded its independence and whose language of public service has become a hollowed-out ritual.”

Er - what? Holborn and St. Pancras is supposed to be one of Labour's safest seats. It's obviously a challenge in the Burnham honeymoon. IF the Greens won, it'd mean they could take dozens of Labour-held urban seats. It could leave the next Labour government dependent on them
Genuinely don’t understand this. Mad gamble wth huge downside but only limited upside. If he loses it’s game over. If he wins it says the Greens can win in very limited, Greeny areas. Which we already knew.

Very damning indeed.
The silence of British trade unions in the face of the Labour Prime Minister proudly supplying a billion pound corporation with free labour is damning

Surreal feeling to have a physical copy of my book in my hands. Took me years to get to this stage! Come what may, we’re here to stay: the story of South Asian resistance in Britain is available to pre-order now!

Beyond parody
Raise the Colours ringpiece in chief, Ryan Ferguson thinks Brighton Pavilion is "brand new"... He's offended by a 200 year old building because he thinks the domes and minarets, built by King George IV, are a sign of creeping Islamic immigration. 🙄

Andrew Neil - former BBC presenter, founding chairman of GB News, editor of the *Sunday Times* when it claimed HIV didn’t cause AIDS, denies concentration of billionaire ownership in our media. The public are seeing even more though how the billionaire monopolised press works.
Polanski’s Ministry of Truth starts with its first Big Lie — that UK media is controlled by a ‘few billionaires’. Total nonsense. But that’s indicative of what to expect in Polanski-world where the Ministry of Truth will be the vehicle for stifling truth and peddling convenient lies. We need a First amendment to protect free speech from the authoritarians on the left and right.

What does it say about a culture when it can produce almost unlimited quantities of immaculately produced music, but seems increasingly unable to produce songs that survive being sung badly in a room?

.@StevenJMethven is a good man, and he has clearly reflected deeply on what happened. I can see people still laying into Novara, but what is the point of anything if, when people make a mistake and own it, we just keep digging?
