A $50K Tesla is a better vehicle than a $200K Mercedes G-Wagon. I own both, and I basically only take the Tesla. Why? The car literally drives for you. No luxury feature can ever top that.

With people talking about a 50 year mortgage I’ve been thinking about a “life mortgage” idea: you only pay the interest on your home while you’re alive, and instead of paying down principal, that portion goes into a protected investment account (like an S&P 500 fund).

If the mortgage is 6% and the account grows 8–10%, you’d earn a 2–4% margin while your home also appreciates. When you die or sell the house, the principal is repaid from the account.
