Wonderful seeing Bedouin voters arrive on camels and women queuing in niqabs to vote in the Israeli elections. (Arab women got the right to vote in Israel before any Arab states. They got it in 1948 along with all other Israeli citizens.)
The Arab parties are projected to win about 17-18 seats out of 120.
Meanwhile, let’s check how many Jews are in parliaments in the Arab states. None, I believe.
Which is not surprising given the total number of Jews in all Arab states is something like 0.2% of the number of Arab citizens within Israel.
It’s complicated, messy, imperfect, and open to criticism; there is both subtle and overt racism, and no shortage of flaws to scrutinize. Yet none of that changes a fundamental reality: within its internationally recognized borders, Israeli democracy remains vibrant and inclusive of citizens from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. The idea of a Jewish and democratic Israel is both legitimate and credible, and has been successfully practiced in tandem.

If you’re going to make such a stupid statement, at the very least be accurate.
About 250 million Arabs didn’t get to vote in today’s elections. They also didn’t get to vote last year, last decade, or even the last century. Because Israel is the only democracy in the entire region.
The Palestinian Arabs didn’t get to vote because Mahmoud Abbas cancelled the elections indefinitely. In fact there haven’t been elections in 20 years.
Blame the Arab leaders. It has nothing to do with Israel.

2 Million Muslims had the opportunity to vote in an election today to select the new government of where they live.
All of these Muslims also had the opportunity to run for a government position.
There’s an Islamist political party in this country, called United Arab List. Right now it is forecast that Muslim candidates will win a record breaking number of seats, perhaps representing about 15% of the government.
Where is this happening?
The only Jewish nation in the world.
The country that is constantly being accused of “apartheid” against and “ethnic cleansing” of the Muslims that live in their country and the surrounding territories.
How many Muslim countries and territories allow Jews to run for government or vote?
How many Muslim counties and territories have government systems that would allow anyone to run for any position?
How many Muslim countries and territories have regular open fair elections for Muslims to vote?
We all know the answers.
So why are so many Westerners calling for the end of the only true democracy in the Middle East?

This is a polling station IN ISRAEL.
But please, tell me more about Israeli ‘apartheid’. 🙄

Israel was the first country in the Middle East to allow Muslim women to vote.
Let that sink in.

They called it apartheid. The ballot box called them liars. Arab and Muslim parties are winning 17 seats in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. Arab turnout was above 70% in town after town. Wait, I thought Zionists were racist, so how come these “racists” are giving parliamentary seats to Arabs and Muslims, who, in turn, came out to vote? Some villages hit 90% turnout.
They democratically participated and voted in a Zionist democratic system they believe in?
Arabs now hold about 14% of Israel’s parliament. Muslim MPs hold about 4% of Britain’s. Odd kind of apartheid, where the “oppressed” vote harder than London does.

As Israeli elections draw to a close, reminder that whether PM Netanyahu is re-elected or someone else wins, the enemies and detractors of Israel will still hate the country anyway. Their issue is not who leads the Jewish state, but the very existence of a Jewish state itself.

🚨🇮🇱 Arab Israelis could be the KINGMAKERS in today's highly-anticipated election...
Arab turnout was just over 50% in 2022, but pollsters have projected it could reach as high as 70% this time!!
That matters because neither Netanyahu's bloc nor Gadi Eisenkot's opposition was projected to reach the 61 Knesset seats required for a majority.
Even without formally joining Eisenkot's coalition, Arab parties could potentially provide the external parliamentary support needed to sustain a minority government.
Raam leader Mansour Abbas urged Arab Israelis to vote, arguing that governments elected through the ballot box can also be removed through it.
If Arab turnout really surges toward 70%, it could become one of the decisive variables in who governs Israel next.

Today, Israel votes. Iran is watching.
Hamas is watching. Hezbollah is watching. And the world is watching something rather beautiful: after the genocide of October 7, Israelis return not to bullets, but to ballots. This is Israel’s first national election since the Hamas Muslim Brotherhood terrorist attack of October 7, 2023.
Jews. Muslims. Arabs. Christians. Druze. Baháʼís. Atheists.
Different prayers. Different histories. Different politics. One ballot box.
They will argue. Of course they will. They are Israelis. Arguing could practically qualify as a national sport.
But today, they choose.
Whatever the Israeli people decide, respect it. It is their country, their democracy, and their choice.
Democracy is not: I respect the people only when they elect my side.
Democracy is accepting that your neighbour’s ballot weighs exactly as much as yours, even when you hate what they wrote on it.
After October 7, Hamas tried to write Israel’s future with blood. Today, Israelis write it with a pen. That difference is everything. May Israelis choose their future freely. And may the West have the maturity to respect what they choose.

I went to exercise my right to vote in the elections in the apartheid state of Israel.
To my great surprise, I discovered that every party on the official election poster was listed in both Hebrew and Arabic, and that there were even Arab political parties running in the elections.
And I couldn’t help but wonder: who the hell is supposed to vote for them if only Jews have rights in Israel?

Israel is having its election today and every adult citizen - regardless of background or ethnicity - is able to vote.
In fact, out of 380 million Arab citizens in two dozen countries in the Middle East, the only ones who really get to choose their government in free and fair elections are the 2.1 million who live in the equal, diverse and multicultural democracy that is Israel.
The only Arab citizens who live in a democracy are the Israeli Arab citizens of the free and open country of Israel, the only liberal democracy in the whole of the Middle East.
I'm so proud of my country. A light in a region with so much darkness. Democracy where Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze, and citizens of all backgrounds have the right to vote and choose their leaders.
For comparison: in Gaza, Hamas won 2006 elections and violently seized control in 2007. In Judea and Samaria ("West Bank"), Mahmoud Abbas has remained president since 2005 without another presidential election.

A very interesting day in 🇮🇱 Israel today...
Jewish Israelis, Arab Muslim Israelis, Christian Israelis, Druze and citizens from other religious and ethnic backgrounds are all entitled to cast their ballots.
Among those who have voted today are Israeli President Isaac Herzog and prominent Arab Israeli political leader Yousef Jabarin.
All participating in the same democratic process, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
Now, here's something that's... funny, to say the least, when you consider the whole "Israel is an apartheid state" narrative.
The last parliamentary elections in Gaza and the West Bank were held in January 2006, more than 20 years ago. The last presidential election was in January 2005.
I'm seeing something resembling apartheid. But it sure as hell isn't taking place in Israel.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Apartheid.
More than 2 million Muslim Arabs will cast their votes today in Israel 🇮🇱 freely with the full protection of the law and rights they have.
More than a dozen of them will be sworn in as members of the new Knesset.
They are judges, soldiers in the IDF, policemen and women, and full citizens of the strongest Democratic Ally in the world.
