#oasis25. Ok. I didn’t get tickets. Sore about that and particularly @Ticketmaster dealings with everything. But then I listen to “Stay With Me” by The Faces and I thought - Oasis weren’t the only great Rock ‘n’ Roll band.

#newsagents . I’m originally from Eastwood in #LeeAnderson constituency. I have also been a BBC journalist and understand Westminster politics. To understand Anderson some London journalists need to get out of London, go to places like Eastwood and talk to people.

#autobahn #joydivision I had my hip scanned today by MRI. Usually they play BBC Radio 2 in my headphones. This time I heard the industrial magnets and thought what would Martin Hannett do with those sounds? Went home and listened to Kraftwerk.

I watched this guy today while waiting for Manchester Central library to open. OK - his PA was loud but he wasn’t threatening or violent or rude and he was on his own. This kind of protest is against the law apparently.
The Tory Police of Manchester are interfering with our protest again. We now have new sanctions including a map of where we can protest. Police State?#CPC23

When I was 13/14 I heard the Specials for the first time my local comp. Thanks to #terryhall I developed a life long love of reggae and ska. What a talent. What a legacy of great music. Thank you

Late on the BBC anniversary tribute thing (busy making a File on 4) but here’s my story: A 15 yr former staffer who worked with inspirational reporters, execs, AP’s and amazing support staff. I know I made a difference. But it’s only because I worked for the Beeb. #Reputation

#sherwood. My mum worked as ‘pit nos’ - head nurse in charge of the medical centre at Babbington Colliery during the ‘84 miners strike in Nottingham. She cared for working UDM miners. Every day she had to run the gauntlet of NUM pickets. Not once was she stopped or called scab.

In M’cr today and came across a German student sitting on the curb. He wasn’t pissed or high - but needed an ambulance. He clearly had an underlying condition given the monitor on his wrist. He rang 999 and was told the wait was 8 hours. We took him in an Uber.
