My attempt at discussing what has driven violent riots & wanton destruction in France (not without interruption). I was also reacting to unhelpfully labelling Kemi Badenoch's mention of challenges of migration y'day, as a Trump-like dog whistle #PoliticsLive

"One possible reason for the fact that unions have been so ineffective in addressing women’s concerns and defending the rights of female members is offered by the government’s most recent statistics on union membership. This reveals that higher earners and higher educated employees are both more likely to be trade union members. As mentioned above, gender ideology has taken far greater hold in elite institutions and professions, which have then sought to impose it downwards. Union leaders these days appear to have abandoned their historic role as defenders of the working class, in favour of defending their own luxury beliefs."
Thank you for recognising this @jk_rowling we want to fill the gap
I wrote a new piece about women’s rights and whether or not I want trans people dead. (Spoiler: I don’t)👇

After the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" vote, the Leader of Haringey Council, which is controlled by the Greens, wrote to various Synagogues in the borough to "reassure" them.
I want to show you Highgate Synagogue's reply. I believe it is worth reading in its entirety.

WOMEN BETRAYED SHOULD WE SMASH THE UNIONS AND START AGAIN?
With Unite and Unison backing the Labour For Trans Rights rally, will unions ever again respect the rights and dignity of women defined by reference to biological sex?

EXCL- The pro-trans protests that threatens to overshadow Burnham’s first Labour conference REVEALED…
A protest outside the Women’s Conference on Saturday will be joined my Labour politicians and trade unionists from across the UK.
The demo - against the ban on trans delegates - has been backed by the powerful trade unions council body in Liverpool.
Leaflets picturing Burnham - seen by Metro - and criticising Labour will be distributed to attendees.
Metro can also confirm that the Communication Workers Union is the fifth union to boycott the conference over the trans ban, following Unison, Aslef, Usdaw and Musicians Union.

By me: The champagne-toasting luvvies who demonised John Davidson have won. Tourette’s is an awful condition. People with involuntary tics deserve sympathy, not exclusion

Unfortunate truths about Scottish education:
The number of high-achieving kids has collapsed by 40% in the past 20 years.
PE is now the third most popular subject at Higher.
Just 40% percent of kids pass English and Maths at National 5 (ie, GCSE).
Scottish 15 year olds are more than a year behind English 15 year olds in Maths and Science.
"Knowledge" is a contested idea in Scottish education.
And the SNP government's response? The situation is "essentially stable".
Column on a great national disgrace. 👇

It's not just "garbage" - bits of our universities have flipped from promoting knowledge and high standards to actively trying to destroy them.

This attack on the press, which says that 'some of our community have blood on their hands' singles out a piece written by a black Guardian journalist.
The author, Lester Holloway, is head of Communications and Public Relations at Homerton College Cambridge. This is not mentioned in the piece which states that he writes 'in a personal capacity' homerton.cam.ac.uk/people/le…
Homerton College has a close institutional relationship with the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, which employed Jason Arday.
Arday's death was a tragedy. This response looks like a call for vengeance rather than reflection. It is genuinely astonishing to see this from someone employed in a senior professional services role.
"Jason told me and others that articles written by Black people had hurt him most"

"There is, though, another lesson to be drawn here, about the difficulty of delivering truth to a person who is radically self-deceived. Sometimes it is just easier to become half-deluded too. Institutions nominally dedicated to knowledge — universities, media organisations, publishing houses — are full of people captivated by second-hand fantasies, excluding coherent thought. We need to help them face reality."

200 years of skill and culture in our heartlands is now gone because of weak politicians who have rubbished our society over 40 years disrespected our society & our culture added high energy prices & cheap inferior foreign imports and industries. None of this progressive.
This is awful. The last ever Denby Pottery going to the kiln. Why is there not uproar? Where’s the government in this?? We all have Denby in our homes, in family heirlooms, as our history and now it’s closing through lack of support, such a sad sad day. #SaveDenby @denbypottery

My piece for @spikedonline on what happened when Scope dropped my choir from singing at the London Marathon yesterday .
Along with why - even after the invitation was restored -(with support from the @SpeechUnion ) I chose to sing elsewhere with a hastily assembled group.
There’s been a lot said about this online. This is the more personal - and painful - story behind it.
And why it matters.
