For last 24 hours I’ve seen footage of horrific scenes from Gaza, just absolute human misery. Yet..it’s not there on any news outlet’s home pages, not discussed on our witless political shows. We’re just going to ignore it? Is that the plan?

It is shameful that the world failed to prevent genocide, failed to shelter Gaza's civilians from Israel's bombs, and is now failing even to lift the blockade on basic supplies that would protect children and their families as rain floods the camps of displaced people across Gaza.

You're walking down the street market of SOHO in 1996. The people you miss are still alive, or at least still around, and hope is all you know. The pubs and record shops are thriving, the people are smiling, and you'd never dream of the changes we've become too used to. ⏳️
Sometimes, footage from the 80s cuts deeper than that of the 1800s as we see just how fast the world has left us behind. This is #Walthamstow market in the 80s, where my beautiful grandmother shopped & brought me through the 90s. The emotions I feel watching this are immeasurable

Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

@lastminute_com my wife booked flights for two people from Oaxaca to Tulum, but the airline changed our destination to Cancún. Your company offered us an alternative flight or a refund. No alternative was available, so we requested the refund.1/2
@lastminute_
You have repeatedly refused, citing airline conditions without explaining why. How can a refund be offered and then denied? Please escalate this to your executive complaints team.

#C4News cover the vigil for Jason Arday in Trafalgar Square, London
Lord Simon Woolley, Principal of Homerton College, Cambridge, "This time last week I was with Jason, because we knew Jason was suffering, we knew he felt hounded by those rabid wolves"
"Jason wouldn't dare leave the house, and we said we'll get a taxi for you. We held him in our arms and told him he was loved"
"He held Dianne Abbott's hands and he said: I love you. Then he said, "They're hounding me to death, and I cannot see a way out"
Diane Abbott, "He was first appointed as a professor in Cambridge three years ago"
"And for those three years he had a vicious campaign, a bitter campaign, by anonymous people, by other professors, who just didn't believe that a black man should be a Cambridge professor"
One of his students, "His greatest contribution cannot be found in a palpitation, a title or a citation, nor in his talks"
"It is found in people who continue to love him, in the lives he changed, and the confidence gave us and the doors that he fought to hold open behind him"
Bell Ribeiro-Addy, "The public cruelty Jason was subjected to was too much for any man to bear"
"The outpouring or love, support and grief since his death means so much to us"
"Although it is bittersweet, kindness is needed in life, not just in death"
Krishnan Guru-Murthy, "If you could change the world in any way, how would you change it?"
Professor Jason Arday, "I would take a thread and a needle and I would interweave love into our society."
"I think the absence of love in our society is absolutely palpable."
"I feel the empathy we have for one another, the tolerance for one another, has completely eroded"
"There is so much anger in society, and I often think what would one replace that with?"
"If I could change the world, I would have the world spin on an axis of love"

Reform UK's Robert Jenrick, is clearly determined to out‑idiot Lee Anderson's Calais adventure, with a skit straight out of Brass Eye.
With a straight face, he invites us not to laugh as he recounts his heroic struggle to “get a haircut”, a tale involving the previous owner of the shop who was, apparently, “allergic to hair” and later “found in a container of bananas with £1 million of cocaine.”
It's Sarah Pochin's turn next, God help us. 😂
