This has pissed off a certain subset of people so let me try again
Boys: We want books about adventures, quests, and survival with male protagonists!
Publishers: go f*ck yourself, future incel, your needs are irrelevant

Nick Fuentes is the only person on the right who sounds like the insane version of the right the left holds in their minds
And that is because Nick Fuentes is a leftist pretending to be on the right and is acting on the same mental model

A statistic that sounds fake but isn't: Not one single white American man born after 1984 has published a work of literary fiction in The New Yorker.
It's not because they stopped writing. It's because The New Yorker has refused to publish them. The publishing industry has blacked out a generation of male writers & then they wonder why boys don't read.
About 70% of publishing professionals are women.
Because agents and editors tend to select books they personally relate to, an increasing number of male authors are being sidelined in the publishing industry, resulting in an overwhelming number of female protagonists on our shelves—and a dearth of male ones.
No wonder young men are no longer reading.

The fact that boys don't like reading is not because of some mysterious, 'underrated' reason. It's blindingly obvious that the vast majority of children's literature is not only not aimed at boys, but treats boys as a problem at best, in need of moral reform.
Young boys are being discouraged from getting into reading—and it’s because more books are missing one key element, @sophiah_n reports: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

When women are underrepresented it’s called a problem, when men are underrepresented it’s called parity. Good to see a story shedding some fair light on a real problem

I'm going to harp on the "would-be incels" thing some more and point out:
Nice, respectable liberal women will talk about little boys the way the most despised lunatic fringe fascist men talk about little girls, and this is treated as normal.
Jim Wolf retweeted
Women calling little boys "would-be incels" should be met with the same contempt and disgust as men calling little girls "future whores" or other sexualized insults. WILDLY inappropriate way to speak of children.
The complete feminization of education has been a disaster for the boys.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you make "Free Palestine" your entire personality and talk about it 24/7, but have remotely no interest in learning Arabic or Middle Eastern history, I am going to think you don't really care about Palestinians that much

Prominent left wing DSA influencer Noah Kulwin went from talking about the need to protect Palestinian children to saying “we are going to feed every white baby to crocodiles” in the span of a few hours yesterday
You can say he was joking but nobody would ever be allowed to “joke” like this about any other race without facing complete social and financial destruction and being banned from every platform
This is how they act after one mid-term victory

So apparently the Director of Arkansas professional programs has been altering bar examination scores for several years by taking points from some bar examinees and adding them to other bar examinees

I honestly feel Schulz contributed to the world's lexicon of humor and character-writing just as much as Chaplin did. So much of what's come since, not just in comics or animation, has his stamp on it. Two artists who maintained total authority over their art and its contents

I personally blame Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens for the Republican loss of the midterms. They’ve caused so much division in our party since Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

I’m heartbroken. This is at my nephew’s university in Texas. They refused to stand for his friend who passed away because he was Jewish.
“The university did a ceremony for students who died, one was my Jewish friend. A ton of people refused to stand up for him because they played a Jewish song. It is really gross. I see it everyday. It is extremely common and throughout every party and class.”

I want to talk to my pro-Israel friends about Steve Davidson, the Jewish publisher of Amazing Stories, who just died.
I had a tremendous amount of backchannel stress with Steve before October 7th, when he was warning science fiction about the dangers of China hosting the Hugo awards. He said that the most important event in science fiction being linked with communism was bad for our integrity. He said they would try to censor which works we honored. He said we were aligning with a regime that was fundamentally evil and authoritarian and that was wrong.
We had a fight. I called him a racist.
And of course, China did exactly what he said they would. They decided what we could say and what works we could honor.
It was a huge scandal and a lot of people correctly had their careers destroyed by capitulating to the CCP. Steve was right the entire time and I was wrong. As a Jew, he saw something I was blind to. Something any Jew who understands the history of the Soviet Union could see.
After October 7th, when I started waking up to the dangers of terrorism and theocrat Islamism, Steve and I grew much closer - frequently talking about Israel policy privately. We shared honest opinions about terrorism. About defending yourself from people that want to kill you. And about making the choice to live when people next to you who are asleep don’t care if you die.
I’ve seen a lot of loving tributes about Steve. But I’ve not seen any that note him for his Zionism and his willingness to bring that perspective to our community to make us see things we might not want to see.
Science fiction is erasing that Zionism in choosing what to say about him. It’s not how he would want to be remembered. It fundamentally defined how he saw the world.
May Steve Davidson’s memory be a blessing. He was a proud Jew. He was a Maccabee. And he was my friend.

Years ago, I was invited to an antizionist Jewish book club. Yes. Really. The person who invited me had no idea what my political views were and they assumed I shared theirs. Being naturally curious — the same curiosity that has guided my travels and writings for decades — I went without giving my full name
What I found was a group of social misfits, most of whom didn't know a thing about the Middle East and didn't speak a word of Arabic. I distinctly remember one guy making a deeply racist remark about Ethiopian Israelis. Most of the attendees had absolutely no interest in Arab culture or history. For them, their entire activism was all about getting back at the "Jewish establishment" (or their families or former communities)
That's why they are so performative about everything. It's why they love public spectacles. It's just narcissism, all designed to highlight their own supposed virtue in the face of the "Jewish establishment."
I think about this a lot lately
