This makes me sick…
While nurses, PSWs, ECEs, & other public sector workers' wages were frozen in Ontario for 3 years, THIS PREMIER HAS THE AUDACITY TO TALK ABOUT THE “BURDEN” MPPs face because of the “cost of living” when they have a budget for housing & millage.

Hundreds of Indonesian university students stormed a refugee shelter, forcefully evicting Rohingya refugees and demanding their immediate deportation. Footage showed Rohingya women and children being forced to sit on the ground in tears. At the same time, the mob trampled over their belongings and attempted to attack them. The students forced the 137 Rohingya refugees out of the temporary shelter and onto trucks ready to be deported.
The storming of the refugee shelter in the city of Banda Aceh marks just the latest incident in a string of attacks against the persecuted minority from Myanmar seeking refuge in Indonesia. The UN said that the attack was the result of a coordinated online campaign of misinformation and hate speech, as many residents claim the refugees take scarce resources and come into conflict with locals. More than 1,500 Rohingya refugees have arrived on the shores of Aceh since mid-November in what the UN says is their most significant influx in eight years.
Anti-Rohingya sentiment escalated in 2017 when the Muslim Rohingya population in Myanmar was the target of a genocide by the Myanmar military. The military killed more than 25,000 Rohingyas and forced over 700,000 to flee their homeland, with many seeking refuge in neighboring countries such as Bangladesh and India. With anti-Rohingya violence intensifying in those countries, many attempt deadly sea journeys to Malaysia and Indonesia, where they’re frequently met with the same discrimination.
As a result of ongoing persecution in Myanmar and anti-Rohingya sentiment growing across the region, many remain terrified and traumatized. The dire situation for the stateless Rohingya people leaves one to ask if they are the most persecuted minority in the world, as they are often described.

A maternity ward, educational facilities, a shopping mall, multi-story residential buildings and private homes, a commercial storage, and a parking lot. Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities.
Today, Russia used nearly every type of weapon in its arsenal: “Kindzhals,” S-300s, cruise missiles, and drones. Strategic bombers launched X-101/X-505 missiles. A total of around 110 missiles were fired against Ukraine, with the majority of them being shot down.
Unfortunately, there have been fatalities and injuries as a result of the strikes. All services are working around the clock and providing the necessary aid. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured.
We will surely respond to terrorist strikes. And we will continue to fight for the security of our entire country, every city, and every citizen. Russian terror must and will lose.

Around 110 Russian missiles and numerous drones were used to target civilians in Ukraine. A maternity ward, schools, hospitals, residential buildings, and commercial facilities were all targeted.
Today, millions of Ukrainians awoke to the loud sound of explosions. I wish those sounds of explosions in Ukraine could be heard all around the world.
In all major capitals, headquarters, and parliaments, which are currently debating further support for Ukraine. In all newsrooms, which are writing about “fatigue” or Russia purportedly being ready for "negotiations."
These sounds are what Russia really has to say. Our only collective response can and must be continued, robust, and long-term military and financial assistance to Ukraine. Only greater firepower can silence Russian terror.

Palestinians deserve to starve according to #Hamas leader Musa Abu Marzouk.
"The aid that comes to Gaza must be distributed to the resistance fighters, and what remains is done Distribute it to the people. The attempt of some citizens to seize aid, as happened today in Rafah, will be fought with all force, and the people must offer what is expensive and what is cheap for the sake of the resistance, not steal the food of the resistance."
According to #Hamas if you are a hungry #Palestinian, you deserve to be shot.

My name is Kristin Song.
On January 31, 2018, my son Ethan was shot in the head in his best friend's house. The father/gun owner stored 3 handguns and ammunition in a shoebox. Ethan's friend had been accessing the guns for over 6 months.
At the hospital, the ER doctor slid down the wall, put his head in his hands, and whispered, "Your son is gone." At that instant, all I knew, loved and trusted was imploded into a million tiny pieces.
I begged to say goodbye to my beautiful boy. I wanted to kiss his forehead, tell him how cherished he was, and tuck him in one last time. But the doctor begged me to remember Ethan as he was, you see, he was unrecognizable even to my eyes.
The day before Thanksgiving in 2018, the prosecutor told me she would not charge the negligent gun owner, and if I wanted negligent gun owners to be held accountable, I would have to change the law.
So I did.
6 months later, Connecticut passed Ethan's Law, which requires gun owners to secure their weapons if children can gain access.
Then, I learned that so many states stood silent on this issue, so in 2019, I turned my attention to passing Ethan's Law nationally. I met with over 400 congressional offices, 130 of them Republican.
In 2022, Ethan's Law was passed in the House of Representatives as part of the Safer Communities Act. Sadly, it was not picked up in the final package.
When the Democrats lost the House of Representatives in 2023, I pivoted to passing safe gun storage laws in the States. As a result, Michigan, New Mexico, and Maryland passed safe storage laws.
Currently, I am working with 5 states to pass Ethan's Law.
I am emotionally and mentally exhausted, but I will not stop until there is a cultural shift in this country where it becomes second nature to secure your weapons around unsupervised children.
If you believe in protecting children from gun violence, please follow and repost.

I hate admitting this, but if you look back at the last few decades in Israel/Palestine, the extremists are winning. From the Jewish fanatic who murdered Rabin, to the Hamas suicide bombers blowing up buses to stop the peace process, to Jewish thugs rioting in the West Bank, to the Hamas murderers of October 7th, and now the Israeli ministers clamoring for more blood—they are all winning.
The moderates on all sides are being squeezed and isolated, and the road to peace has never felt narrower or more lonely. But we simply can't give up. What they want—all these apocalyptic haters reflecting and amplifying each other and clinging together like desperate leeches—is to blow up this whole place. To cause a conflagration form which there is no return.
Any word or action that helps them is bad. Any step that turns us away from that precipice is good.

You can defend Jews & Muslims in 🇨🇦 & not have to then demonstrate here that you ‘defend both sides’.
The Israel-Hamas war is NOT a war between those two religions & it’s NOT a context that allows you to be a hateful bigot against fellow 🇨🇦s.
