My manager told me I'm not qualified for promotion because I don't have a Bachelor's degree.
Same day, he promoted his friend that I trained for 6 months who still asks me how to do his job.
I've been at this company 4 years. No promotion. No raise. $18 an hour.
I work 40 hours plus overtime on Saturdays.
Last year, my manager hired his friend.
No experience in our field. Just a Bachelor's degree and good English.
Manager said, "Train him. Show him everything."
I trained him on everything. Our system, our clients, how to write reports, how to fix the copier when it jams, even my own shortcuts I built over 2 years.

My manager called me into his office on a Monday morning and asked me a question I never expected to hear at work.
“Has my wife ever mentioned me to you?”
I froze.
His wife worked in another department. We occasionally ate lunch together, but we weren’t close enough for personal conversations.
“Why are you asking?” I said.
He shut the office door.
“Because I think she’s sleeping with someone at this company.”

Two days later a delivery driver called me. He had a box for the landlord that was too big for the mailbox.
“Can I leave it in the lobby?”
I said, “You should return it. The landlord just said no exceptions.”
He called the landlord. Ten minutes later I got a text: “Tell him to leave it. I’ll grab it later.”

My girlfriend always said her male best friend was basically a brother to her, so she expected me to be completely fine with their friendship.
At first, I was.
He came over to our apartment, ate dinner with us, and sometimes called her late at night to talk through his problems. She even pushed me to spend time with him because she wanted us to be comfortable around each other.
I tried. We started watching football, trading jokes, and occasionally grabbing something to eat when my girlfriend was busy.
Everything was fine until I became friends with a female coworker.
We worked on the same projects, took lunch together pretty often, and sometimes texted about work after hours. There was nothing romantic going on, but my girlfriend noticed we were becoming friends and immediately got uncomfortable.
She began asking why I needed to talk to another woman so much. One night, she picked up my phone, saw a message from my coworker thanking me for helping with her presentation, and demanded to know what was happening between us.
