This really needs regulating. If a league overlaps with another league, you can only play in one of them. Would be better for fans, easier for teams to plan, improves the integrity of the cricket, more clarity for broadcasters, I could go on

South African pitches having this huge range of how they play is a key reason why the cricket there is so engaging. Raggers, green tops, occasional road - just so much more interesting than conditions where the main debate is whether you can get by without a spinner.

Shortlisted for the auction at a R200,000 reserve price ✅
Qualifies as a rookie. Great prospect for any team looking to invest in a middle order hitter 👀

Matthew Breetzke earlier this year: “I had a brief with Patrick Maroney on my future with the Proteas and it was basically that for the foreseeable future, they don't see me in the T20 and Test side because there are batters ahead of me,” "With regard to the One Day side, he basically said my spot is not secured."
WOW.
Wonder if Patty has changed his mind?

SA A batters making huge claims for test caps:
Marques Ackerman (1, 219 runs from 12 games at 71.7 and 102SR)
Sinethemba Qeshile (1,010, 16, 56.11, 62.88)
Zubayr Hamza (1, 553, 20, 57.51, 64.78)
Strongly believe all 3 should play against Bangladesh. Ackerman must play every test of our summer.

Not sure how we've not found space for Brevis for the Australia ODI series. Sure he hasn't set the world alight in ODI's but ask the Aus bowlers who they'd least like to bowl to and most, if not all, would say Brevis.
Man of the series last week as well.

Dear rugby referees!
You either have a TV ref who does a good and fair job or you don’t waste our time by using him.
This is blatant and has happened a few times in the series already!
WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!

Blake Simpson, 21, looks a real prospect. Tall, powerful hitter, bats at 5/6 & also bowls decent leg spin. Contracted with NC for this season. Expect plenty of interest in the SA20 auction given his skillset. Should qualify as a rookie for next year's comp.

📰 | LPL 2026
LPL has introduced Power Blast, with an extra fielder inside 30-yard circle in 16th & 17th overs. Teams can only have 4 fielders outside the circle during those overs.
Also introduced Impact Player rule, while every XI must include at least one Emerging player

The England Men's Test coach shouldn't be an IPL head coach at the same time; it's a naive misunderstanding of the difficulty and workload of both roles. If you think Flower can juggle both, you aren't respecting the effort & attention that has brought his success in either.
England may allow Andy Flower to miss Tests for the IPL if he becomes next coach. The fresh availability of Stephen Fleming today has also piqued their interest telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2026…

Very rare i disagree with George, but Stokes knew the febrile atmosphere around this team, knew what would happen if something went wrong and seems he went ahead anyhow...heads were wanted and he handed his to the knitting circle on a silver platter... #EngvNZ

If all he's done wrong is to break a curfew, then I agree. If cricketers can't go out after winning a Test, with 10 days until the next game, then well, I dunno...
What Brook did in Wellington is different.
