Ahead of Tuesday’s election, I spent the past week driving across Israel and the West Bank, from Lebanon to the gates of Gaza.
This is the country I found, frenetic, divided, angry, joyful, messianic and anxious. Its future is up for grabs.

This is all the more powerful knowing that probably none of these young Israeli's were alive when Rabin tried for peace before being assassinated by allies of Smotrich & Ben Gvir. These kids need supporting. A different hopeful future, free from hate, is possible.

Quite correct - and right to call it an antisemitic motion. There’s no more fundamental test of political reputability than the issue of racism & xenophobia.
Andy Burnham rules out coalition with the Green Party over 'antisemitic' Israel motion passed at their Brighton conference trib.al/vGpEbyD
This is hugely welcome after the Greens measure has caused such shock and distress in the Jewish community.

Today we remember the victims of the October 7 massacre – the killing of innocent Israeli people, the torture, mutilation, rape and kidnapping, parading of the dead, the wanton cruelty and the depraved celebrations of murder, the gleeful delight in brutality, the degeneracy of its perpetrators and supporters. It is a day that stands out for its unparalleled sadism and nihilism.
The scale of the killing of people of all sorts, all races, Jewish and Arab and others, is unequalled in a single day in modern times.
It was the greatest murder of Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Its cruelty and barbarism seem to belong to cruel times long ago – this was a lurch back to the raids and slaughters of the Mongols or the Huns - but it is unique too in its 21stcentury hi-tech modernity: it was filmed live by its perpetrators and other cameras and so unlike any other atrocity in all of human history, its details are beyond question.
It is the most documented butchery and sadism ever perpetrated – and therefore the reactions to it are simply the clearest and most unequalled test of humanity available to us, reactions that will be remembered in the future.
It was also a crime against peace: its effects were utterly destructive for Israelis but also for Palestinians and the innocent people across the whole region who perished in the wars it unleashed.
More than that, it was an atrocity against humanity itself - and the humanist values that mark all decent people, the values of liberal, free, kind societies and communities everywhere.
Its effects were utterly destructive for Israelis but also for the Palestinians and the rest of the region.
Today we remember those who died, those who were wounded, those who were kidnapped, tortured, raped and killed in the tunnels of Gaza, those who lost friends and compatriots.
It was a crime of annihilation to launch the liquidation of an entire people and nation, to kill and torture Israelis and Jews.

Will the electorate take Polanski seriously in the upcoming by-election after the Greens pass the ‘Zionism is racism’ motion?
Labour should not countenance a coalition with the Green Party as long as this policy remains in effect.

Let me explain why its a far right motion. The impact on the Gov of Israel is Zero. Netanyahu couldnt give a toss about the GPEW. But the impact on British Jews is this: it becomes official policy of the Green Party to crudely decide which Jews are good and which Jews are bad. /1

BREAKING: Bridget Phillipson responds on behalf of Labour to the racist and antisemitic motion today. It’s strong and she doesn’t mince her words to be fair.
Bridget Phillipson MP, Chair of the Labour Party, and Minister for Women and Equalities, responds to the Green Party’s vote on Zionism at the Green Party Conference, said:
“It is shameful to vote against a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine and to condemn the vast majority of British Jews and Jews around the world as racist for supporting Israel’s right to exist. It is fundamentally wrong and the leadership of the Green Party must make clear that this will not be their position moving forwards.
“The Labour Party has always been clear that criticism of the policies of the Israeli Government is not antisemitic, and the Labour government has condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank. But today’s vote at the Green Party Conference crosses a line and should be condemned across the political spectrum.
“This vote underlines how important it was that we changed the Labour Party from top to bottom and ripped out the scourge of antisemitism from within the party.
"The Labour Party and the Labour Government will continue working every day to ensure our Jewish communities are safe, feel safe and have their rights upheld, as well as making sure we rid our society of antisemitism once and for all.”

Asking Jews to pass a purity test and renounce self-determination according to a perverse interpretation arbitrarily applied, isn't just an extreme position, it’s a racist one.
That’s before we consider the Green party is now backing violent dismantling of Israel.

The most antisemitic motion ever put forward via a democratic vote at a British political party conference is about to pass by a large majority. The limited safeguards amendment lost by a large margin. It seeks to put an ideological and networks purity test in front of every Jew.

May their memories be for a blessing. We stand united against antisemitism.
Hugely concerning:
Europe keeps importing Hamas double agents and closeted loyalists who arrive claiming asylum, only to flip after October 7 and become loud promoters of the "resistance" narrative. Many turned out to be money launderers, instigators, sleeper cells, protest organizers, online inciters, and members of the worst activist circles. I have warned senior European officials at every level, including Prime Ministers, Defense, Foreign, and Interior Security Ministers.
Belgium, for example, has become a central Hamas hub in Europe, a place where operatives issue orders to Gaza to kidnap, torture, and harass Palestinians, including friends of mine. I have given authorities names, amounts, dates, bank accounts, tracking numbers, addresses, and more for Hamas-linked money launderers violating European law. Nothing happened.
So, surprise surprise, the UK granted asylum and then citizenship to a former bodyguard of Hamas’s slain leader, Ismail Haniyeh, who went on to plot a major al‑Qassam Brigades terror attack targeting Jewish sites in Berlin and Vienna.

This story confirms a deep fear of mine. That out of a mixture of carelessness, incompetence, indifference and denial the Home Office is rubber stamping terrorists, that would like to kill people like me and my family, access to the country. This should provoke a real reckoning.
