It really is that simple
Ethnic hatred is wrong
Realizing the majority of people from a given country are incompatible with your way of life and restricting their access to your country is a basic necessity for survival
I refuse to judge people by the color of their skin.
But I also refuse to pretend that immigrants from certain nations don’t tend to vote a particular way and embrace cultural practices that make it unwise to continue to welcome massive numbers of them if we want to continue our way of life.
These two things are not inconsistent, and we need to stop listening to people who say they are.

People can get mad at @BonifaceOption if they want, but his arc was commendable imo. He went hard against the war when it started, losing followers from “plan trusters” then.
And in the run up to the election, he went hard encouraging people to still vote for Republicans, getting called a “sell out” then.
But what I see in those two approaches was courage and consistency.
Lost followers for “trooning out” over Iran.
I still am not convinced it is in our interest. The China/geopol arguments have not persuaded me.
I don’t hate Trump or want people to vote for Democrats or anything like that. I am still very supportive of him and his domestic priorities.
I am free to disagree with the administration. I am not a third worldist. I don’t have any sympathy for the Iranian regime. I don’t think this is Bush Era neoconservatism, but I still don’t think it is good.
I don’t think I represent a fringe opinion, but maybe it doesn’t matter.
I just want what is best for my people. Maybe that is what Trump is pursuing and I am too simple to understand. But maybe this also isn’t 5D chess and is a colossal mistake.
I don’t know. Even the very wise cannot see all ends. Neither can I.

There’s a lot to be encouraged by here in Idaho. Across the country, we have work to do.
My response is to get more involved. Show up between elections. Build relationships and community. Earn trust.
I love this country, and I’m optimistic about its future. Let’s get to work.

Some of y’all would have folded when the Caliphate controlled the vast majority of Spain.
Or when Comanche raiders hit your settlement, slaughtered who they could find, and carried off the women and children.
Or when your Greek mercenary band found itself stranded deep in Persian territory, facing a newly hostile satrap, and most of your leaders had been treacherously executed.
Or when your Israelite nation faced an army of Philistines and a Nephilim.
Have you not read the Scriptures or the annals of Western history?
Don’t give up the ship.

The country survived FDR.
Get up and get to work.
My near term plan is to reach out to my county GOP and see what they need.
The fight is far from over.

Disney loves to rehabilitate their cruelest and most malevolent villains. When do we get a revisionist prequel for Anakin Skywalker? Or does he stay bad if he can't get a big musical number that glorifies his selfishness like Wicked or Frozen?

I started praying earlier this year that God would be merciful towards this land and destroy the Democrats this election. We prayed this every night with the kids before they went to bed.
May God grant us a red wave and space for this land to renew its Christian faith
Vote straight Republican.

New follower influx. Here's my story.
I went full-time illustration this June. I gave myself runway and I'm working toward covering all bills.
I live, and always have, in East Tennessee. We're expecting kid #6 soon. I feel the stakes.
Here's how I make a living:
1. I sell my existing graphic novel, Theseus (Ancient Greek Comedy/Adventure), and my original Ancient Greek card game Panomachea over on my website, carthageworkshop.com. There's also prints and original art there.
2. I sell all those things traveling to various comic cons and book fairs.
3. I work with clients like @MichaelFKane, @OldSovPub, to illustrate books and other projects. A few more ongoing. I illustrated a graphic novel called Blood & Water: the Life & Martyrdom of Shahbaz Bhatti as part of a team, which was published this April by @IgnatiusPress.
4. I crowdfund projects. That's how I got Theseus off the ground for three volumes and 430 fully illustrated pages. That's how my next project, PetraCor, an Anglo-Saxon fable about faith, penance, strange monsters and long journeys will come to be.
I don't like marketing. No artist does. But it's part of the job. If my work resonates with you, and you'll pick something up in my store, it's very much appreciated. If you have an illustration project you want to discuss, get in touch over at jordanholt.art.

Making jigs is the key to good work. “Jigs” “go no go’s” “feather boards” all the wood working trips with hobbit type names

This is 100% the parents’ fault and there’s no excuse for it. Preschoolers love AA Milne and Beatrix Potter. Lots of kids can handle the Fairy Books and Grimm before kindergarten. Don’t let them have Underpants and Wimpy Kid garbage or other thin “chapter book” series. They deserve excellent prose and complex characters. Small children can sense the difference, even if they can’t articulate why good literature deserves to be canonical. Shape their appetites young and they’ll crave more than short form video entertainment when they’re older. If you read them EB White, Rudyard Kipling, Ingalls Wilder, James Herriot, Narnia, LOTR, Arthurian legends when they’re in elementary, they’ll be ready to discuss the ancient Greeks, Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens, and Dostoevsky with you in their early teens. Also, just because they’re teens doesn’t mean you have to give them access to social media brain rot. Grow a spine and simply don’t allow it.
We are literally doomed
American High School English Teacher reads real responses from her student’s assignment after reading The Great Gatsby
We have a serious education issue in America and if we don’t address it, we have a horrible future ahead of us
These kind of responses are to be expected because 12th grade reading results in 2024 in America showed that reading levels right now the lowest they’ve ever been since the assessment began in 1992
