Communists of a feather.
On behalf of the government and the people of South Africa I congratulate my dear brother and friend, President @LulaOficial and the people of Brazil.
This victory will echo beyond the shores of Brazil. It is a victory for the global south and progressive forces throughout the world.
We affirm our commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries and working closely together in all multilateral fora to forge a just and better world order underpinned by solidarity and adherence to international law.

210 cities that voted for Flavio 2 weeks ago are said to have changed their votes and voted for Lula today. Truly unprecedented in the history of modern elections… or fantasy.
213 cidades que escolheram Flávio no 1º turno deram vitória a Lula no 2º

The numbers don’t add up.
It doesn’t matter.
Elections are contemporaneous.
You have 24 hours or less to contest the result.
After that it doesn’t matter what’s true.
Ask Robert Mugabe.
RIO DE JANEIRO - Desempenho do Lula
1º turno: 3.693.021 votos
2º turno: 4.565.393 votos
Replying to @JackPosobiec
Only one: Lula in 2026. He trailed Flávio Bolsonaro 45.16% to 47.03% in the first round, then won the runoff roughly 51.8% to 48.2%.
It is not common. In the prior seven presidential runoffs since 1989, the first-round leader always won.

Lula put his own former lawyer on the Supreme Court.
He asked the courts for voting to be extended by 2 hours. Skipped the court that should decide it and had that same former lawyer unilaterally decide to order it 2 minutes before polls close.
BUT only for places that still had voting open, which were mainly Lula strongholds that were aware of the request and waited for it to be granted.
This isn't just optics. They knew exactly what they were doing. It's open corruption.
To be honest I can accept that this criminal won election again and I’m even ok with this unelected woman who runs Europe congratulating him. I acknowledge that people make bad voting decisions because they don’t understand cause and effect.
What I won’t tolerate any longer is people moaning about their “cost of living” or their “quality of life” because they’ve made bad choices.
Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory.
Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil.
Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving.
We will remain by your side for the years to come.
Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade.
A rules-based global order.
And strong ambitions for our climate.
The riposte to this is apparently voter turnout being higher but if you look at every election this century there has never been a significant increase in that figure between rounds.

When @realDonaldTrump was elected for his first term, innumerable people including most of my academic colleagues said that the worst realities would befall the United States. None of those things happened. They then said that he would wait until his second term to end democracy, institute martial law, etc. None of those things have happened. Is there a SINGLE honest individual amongst those people who is willing to admit that they were grossly incorrect and hence irrationally unhinged?
A record breaking election result in Brazil allowing the establishment leftist to retain power.
Where have I seen this before? 🤔
Assuming CFP stands for certified financial planner it’s actually insane to admit that you were going to vote for communists.
I am once again politically homeless. I was planning on voting for @Rise_Mzansi again but alas due to 2 issues, I've changed my mind.

If anyone believes this nonsense, here are the facts he is counting on you not knowing.
The deal did not end Iran's nuclear program. It rented a pause. Iran kept its centrifuges, kept Fordow buried in a mountain, kept enriching to 3.67%, and the key restrictions came with expiration dates. The sunset clauses began lifting in 2025. Obama's own answer at the time was that breakout time "would have shrunk almost down to zero" as the deal expired. His deal scheduled the problem for his successors.
The regime lied its way into the deal. The JCPOA was premised on Iran coming clean about past weapons work. In 2018 Israel pulled Iran's own nuclear archive out of a Tehran warehouse: tens of thousands of documents on the Amad Project, a crash program to build nuclear weapons, preserved and hidden while Iran certified it had no such program. The IAEA later found uranium traces at undeclared sites Iran never explained.
The deal paid for terror. Sanctions relief unfroze roughly $100 billion and the US delivered $1.7 billion in cash. That money flowed to the IRGC, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. Diplomacy with a regime at war with you is financing, not peace.
And the result? By 2025 Iran was enriching to 60%, a short technical step from weapons grade, with enough material for multiple bombs and the IAEA declaring it in violation of its obligations. That is what required military force this year. Iran marched to the threshold under the deal's cover and after it.
"I didn't have to fire a missile" is true. He handed the regime money, legitimacy, and a timetable, and left the missiles to be fired a decade later by someone else. Appeasing a dictatorship doesn't buy peace. It buys the dictatorship time.

The ‘Black’ in BEE has always been ANC gaslighting. BEE and the myriad of race based laws was always designed as a mechanism to exclude anyone who is not ANC from the economy. It was always a policy of economic transfer - specifically transfer to the ANC elite inner circle. Cadre deployment was to throw a bone to the ANC members not part of the inner sanctum. That is why ‘state capture’ is the politics of distraction. While everyone is distracted by ‘state capture’, the problems of Corporate capture, Schools capture, Media capture, Sports capture, Church capture, Judiciary capture, Police capture, Prosecuting authority capture … essentially the capture of everything else so that their power cannot be challenged (its cold outside the ANC!!!) and their impunity can be preserved.
South Africa's 30% investor equity regulations represent the same structural tragedy as Zimbabwean gold.
They are masterfully designed and highly sophisticated on paper, but in practice, they merely function as an institutional mechanism to funnel private capital into the pockets of the ruling elite and party patronage networks.
The cognitive dissonance is glaring. We are told that forcing a 30% localized equity mandate onto international investors transforms societies. Yet, the mathematically baseline reality never adds up.
The wealth simply evaporates into the political ether before it ever hits the grassroots. This is the ultimate failure of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE).
If the policy worked exactly as its architects laid it out in the textbooks, South Africa wouldn't be saddled with a catastrophic youth unemployment rate approaching 50% and multi-generational poverty.
Instead of creating functional, industrial transformation, South Africa has replicated the failed indigenisation playbooks of its northern neighbors.
South Africa has traded actual economic production and real job creation for an elite wealth transfer system, proving once again that paper legislation is no match for systemic political rot.

Diplomacy can not solve blind hatred like this. There is only one way to deal with this. We all know what that is.
The Bulwark crew is absolutely ecstatic over the idea of investigations and prosecutions of Elon Musk.
Can barely contain themselves:
"He has a body count like a f*cking war criminal. We start with the US Congress and it ends at The Hague for Elon Musk."
"You've got $1 trillion, asshole. Start spending it on lawyers."
"You don't hate him nearly enough."
"There has been a series of meetings among House Democrats. Do you know what they're doing? Yes. They're carving up jurisdictions for who is going to Subpoena him to testify before which of them and for what."
"Get a townhouse, big guy. Got a lot of nice brownstones right there by Capitol Hill."
"Elon! You motherf*cker! You better pack a lunch cause your ass is gonna be living in the Capitol starting January of 2027."
"I feel like my guys, Robert Garcia and Jamie Raskin are f*cking ready. They're loaded for bear."
Same kind of people that've cried endlessly about the weaponization of justice are absolutely salivating over the idea of weaponizing justice against their political opposition.
