Wow. Penfield HS and UB product is now a big league manager. Congrats! Kanzler is quite possibly the first Rochester-born full-time MLB skipper.

Matthew LeCroy's job is built around sending player after player where he also wants to go.
That's the life of a AAA manager who still dreams of running a big league club some day.

Congrats to @DrJFriedberg and @thadbrown7... the two biggest Brewers fans I know in Rochester!
Griffin Jax is the first pitcher to start a World Series game after pitching for the Red Wings earlier in his career since Kyle Lohse with St. Louis in 2011.
Congrats to this former Red Wings catcher on his retirement. Garver was the first--and still one of only two--Red Wings player to hit three HR in a game at ESL Ballpark.
Mitch Garver has announced his retirement after 10 seasons spent across the Twins, Rangers and Mariners.
He won a Silver Slugger Award in 2019 with 31 HR and a .995 OPS. He also won a World Series championship with the Rangers in 2023.

Watch out! Another Lipscomb!
Big blow from Friday West Virginia @WVUBaseball split-squad game.
Freshman SS Kayden Lipscomb hits 2-out full-count opposite-field grand slam to flip 3-2 deficit into 6-3 lead in Top 7 of 8-inning game. Only 2nd hit of game (& inning) to that point for Gold. Also had SF in Top 3.
Tune in @BobGaughan and me tonight for the first action of the 2026-27 Bulls!

O'Farrell's last seasons as a full-time player came with the Red Wings in 1936 and 1937 after he had already played 1,300+ MLB games.
#OTD 1896 - Bob O'Farrell was born in Waukegan, IL.
O'Farrell had three stints with the Cardinals (1925-1928) 1933 and 1935.
The journeyman catcher's biggest baseball moment came in 1926 when he threw out Babe Ruth trying to steal 2nd base to end game 7, and give the Cardinals their very first World Series championship.
This historic play remains the only time in MLB history that a World Series ended with a runner caught stealing.
