Olia Olive Leaf Iced Tea: A Modern Revolution in Health and Wellness:
On this symbolic New Year's Day in 2026—the start of America's 250th anniversary year as an independent nation—Olia proudly announces the launch of the world's first ready-to-drink olive leaf iced tea. Just as the American Revolution sparked a bold new era of freedom and innovation in 1776, Olia is igniting a revolution in tea: shifting from traditional caffeinated, sugar-laden beverages to a functional, antioxidant-rich alternative rooted in ancient Mediterranean wisdom. For thousands of years, olive leaves have been brewed in Mediterranean cultures for their powerful wellness benefits, packed with oleuropein—a potent polyphenol and one of nature's strongest bioavailable antioxidants. Scientific studies support olive leaf's potential to combat oxidative stress, support immune health, and promote overall vitality, often outperforming green tea or other superfoods in antioxidant capacity. Olia brings this "superleaf" tradition into the modern age with three delicious, lightly sparkling fruit-forward flavors:
Tangerine Ginger - the morning lift...
Citrus Honey Jasmine - the mid day rise...
Raspberry Lemon - the preferred happy hour...
Crafted with all-natural ingredients, organic sweeteners (just 7g sugar per serving), and no artificial additives, Olia delivers crisp refreshment that's truly better-for-you—perfect for daily rituals, wellness enthusiasts, and anyone seeking flavorful functionality. As America celebrates its semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) with themes of renewal, health, and bold progress, Olia invites you to join the tea revolution: healthier choices for a stronger future. An epic weekend back @TAMU (Howdy!) with @Citadel1842 Summerall Guards, an elite silent precision drill platoon. Formed in 1932 and named after General Charles P. Summerall, the unit consists of selected senior cadets who undergo rigorous physical training to earn their spot. They are famous for performing "The Citadel Series," a complex silent drill sequence that is passed down strictly by memory from class to class without ever being written down.
It was a true pleasure to watch them perform on the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Quad and share Texas BBQ with them throughout the weekend. They hail from all walks of life, found their way to the Citadel, and many are now on their way to join the military.
Backstory: My Dad and Grandfather graduated from The Citadel. I went to Texas A&M and kept my Citadel appointment letter in my wallet my freshman year...just in case 😃. It was an honor to help host the Bulldogs along w/ my Dad, who was also celebrating his bday, this weekend as an unofficial ambassador to Aggieland 👍.
Cc: @The_CCA - appreciate the top notch hospitality, our ties have grown stronger - enjoy the pics!

Tea Timeout.
People ask, 'Why tea and not coffee?' Coffee is that friend who shows up loud, "fixes" everything in 20 minutes, then crashes on your couch. Tea is the friend who says, 'Let it steep.' Tea has never once rushed me.
Whelp.
For the 2nd year in a row, I didn't get an email from the Jackals after trying out...giving another 110% ❤️ at supporting the Team and Community while also attempting to weave in a locally born and brewed health and wellness beverage habit - Olia olive leaf iced tea.
So here's what you won't see this season ---
-- No Yell Leader style atmospherics in the FBC, complete with helmets and outfits like we are going to war 👉 #RaceforSeis.
-- No #TeaTimeouts during TV timeouts advocating for healthy beverage habits on our Championship path.
-- No #Helmets4Health Campaign to attack chronic disease precursors affecting our #porvida community.
The crossovers would have been a contagious game changer and done real good -- on and off the court -- I have an assessment framework to prove it...
I can't say I'm not bummed out but, this has been a reoccurring theme when trying to work with the @Spurs and @SpursJackals - No hard feelings, You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Thank you for the opportunity.

I auditioned for the Spurs Jackals yesterday.
Just like last year, I had conversations with a lot of folks I consider amigos about smart beverage habits to endure a long season of yelling strongly for the Spurs - asking Jackals leadership to consider health impacts of Jackal participants - and what Olia - Olive Leaf Tea - San Antonio’s Premier Health and Wellness Beverage - can bring to the fight. Not just for the Jackals themselves but, with the role they increasingly play in our community. With them, I discussed the notion of "Tea Timeouts" (anticipating nationally televised TV Timeouts to be plenty this year), staying "SpursTea" - and what it means to "Hydrate like a Spur" - on our road to the next championsip. I used #Helmets4Health - banging my custom made Spurs helmets loudly - to provide a visual tie to our military community in the arena - "Silver and Black, On the Attack" - and in the fight against precursors to chronic disease - something well documented in olive leaf research - "The Antioxidant Tea" - and well known to affect large portions of our beloved population.
For me, being a Jackal is of course (and firstly) about providing that edge on the court, it is also about our collective wellness on and off the court - a notion of public service - something the Spurs players and organization epitomize. Pop taught me and us that.
So, I tried out again, I stood by my word, and yelled my butt off.
I'm told an acceptance (if they do) email may come in a week or two.
I shot my shot to be a game changer.

Tea Timeout - A few updates to share -- we've been busy!
1) We’ve been heads-down working toward production.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve been focused on the details that matter most, continuing to fine-tune the Olia formulation, working through production considerations, and getting closer to a product we’re truly proud to put into consumers’ hands.
We’re still finalizing the formulation, but we’re very close. Our focus remains on finding that right balance between exceptional taste, refreshment, and the functional benefits that make Olia unique. We’ll have more to share as we move closer to production.
2) Olia owner, Chris Cook, my Bro the Chef, briefed at San Antonio Start Up week. As the City's premier health and wellness beverage brand, this wasn't his / our first rodeo. In fact, we paved the way for many others. Telling our story continues to inspire and build our community. 👏 👏 👏 👀 wefunder.com/olia/
3) I joined the Board of the Texas Olive Oil Association which supports, promotes, and defends the growing, harvesting, processing, marketing and sale of Texas grown olive oil. TXAOO, through its members, coordinates all olive related activity in the State of Texas. Through this body consisting of olive orchard owners across the State, I am advocating for additional emphasis - research, education, and eventual harvesting - of Texas olive leaves to support Olia's production needs. 👀 txaoo.org/

Did you know --
When Spanish Franciscan missionaries traveled north into Texas in the 1700s, they brought olive cuttings and seeds from Spain by way of Mexico.
The friars needed olive oil for holy sacraments and everyday cooking, planting small groves around key settlements like Mission San Antonio de Valero, known today as the Alamo. While these original orchards didn't grow into a major commercial industry at the time, they laid the foundation for the classic Mission olive variety that still grows in the region today.
