Michigan Voter: "My temple was a victim of a terror attack and Abdul, he justified it by saying 'hurt people, hurt people' that's all I need to know."
“He’s continued to campaign with Hasan Piker, who is very antisemitic. He was not even able to condemn the ad blaming Jews for all the problems in America.”
A Democratic woman veers from the party line and speaks her mind, and all of a sudden she has no agency and is under the influence of a man.
Sexist much?
Haley Stevens' decision to drop her post-primary endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed and back his Republican opponent Mike Rogers uncorked simmering Democratic anger at her fiancé, Jason Turkish, who told reporters he was voting for Rogers days before Stevens did so.
In one example of Turkish's influence on Stevens' Senate run, three people who worked on her campaign detailed how he frequently sent Stevens comments about her that he'd found online after she decided to get off social media and told staffers she didn't need to be distracted by mean-spirited remarks.
"He would wind her up, and then we'd have to wind her down," said one top campaign aide.

I'm a Michigan Democrat, and I stand with Haley Stevens. I'm voting for Mike Rogers.

Let me get this straight:
In 2026, Democrats had room for Graham Platner (who had to cover up a Nazi-linked tattoo) and Abdul El-Sayed (who wouldn't even admit Iran is a bigger threat to America than Israel).
But moderate, pro-Israel Democrats like Haley Stevens get pushed out?
Where exactly are pro-Israel Democrats supposed to fit in this party?

More importantly where was this energy for Rashida Tlaib when on November 2, 2024 she appeared on the cover of her local paper under a headline that read “Never Kamala” when the election was in just two days on November 4th. The image is etched in my mind likely to never be forgotten and yes I’m still very angry about it. Yall going on about Mike Rogers. This woman delivered a blue city & thereby in part the country, to Trump & Project 2025. Think of her when you can’t afford eggs, or gas or meds
So far today, he’s called Haley Stevens “evil,” “a disturbed, deranged, dishonest woman,” and “petty, thin-skinned, angry, narcissistic.” Where was this outrage when Platner withdrew amid allegations of sexual assault and physical abuse, throwing the Maine race into disarray? Both bad politicians, but such disproportionate outrage. 🤔
I stand with Brianna, and I am disgusted by what she has had to endure over the past 24 hours.
I am extremely upset about the way the pro-Israel community treated me yesterday.
I understand this election is heated. I understand the Democrat’s reaction to anyone with concerns about El-Sayed has essentially been “Fuck you.”
But I’ve critiqued him daily and aggressively. I’ve said I would vote for no one in this race. Apparently, that is not enough. I have to openly endorse someone that wants to continue ending my civil rights.
What upset me the most is how, the second I don’t even disagree but abstain, the pro Israel community launched viral threads calling me a man hundreds of times. I was flat out told that I have a mental illness and can never be accepted as pro Israel, which is exactly what the Islamists think.
This was abusive and deeply unfair.
What has happened to legitimate transsexual women in the last two years under Donald Trump has been horrific. Forcibly detransitioning every single federal prisoner. Ending our protections at work from discrimination. Banning all research into figuring out how to help us. Legally reclassifying me to be a man federally.
When I ask people to name five of these civil rights I’ve lost you can’t. You frequently deny it’s happening at all or lazily point to some imaginary Sharia law taking over the United States. The Senate is not going to get to 51 votes and usher in Islamism.
It is not fair to ask me to support that continued elimination from public life. The stakes for me are very high, Republicans want to ban medication I will literally die without.
I’ve never told anyone to vote for El-Sayed. I understand why people would defect to Rogers. I am asking for the same respect back.
The thing that got me, the most is how people are so eager to see the worst in me. I don’t know what I could do to stand with the pro Israel side more than I’ve done.

Haley Stevens is being called a traitor, but by reversing her endorsement of Abdul El-Sayed, she is showing exactly the kind of courage moderate Democrats once cheered, writes James Kirchick. thefp.com/p/haley-stevens-ab…

All about House races. The pivotal Senate race is notably not mentioned 👀
I’m the first Democrat in a CENTURY to hold this seat for two full terms. I know what it takes to win tough races, chart new territory and do tough things. In 2022 we flipped my seat, and in 2026 we’re going to expand the territory. Last cycle, Ottawa County was one of only TWO counties in Michigan that became MORE Democratic. We’re going to keep that trend going on Tuesday and show the country what West Michigan stands for—hard work. Real results and loving our neighbor as ourselves.
It matters, our Democratic majority in the House will:
✅Put in an end to Trump’s corruption that is costing Americans dearly
✅Expand access to affordable health care and extend the ACA tax credits
✅Get us out of this costly and deadly war with Iran
So, push the noise aside, and let’s get down to work. 50 hours til the polls close. Vote.

Interesting see all the Democrats who have praised Mitt Romney for standing up to his party now pivot and condemn Haley Stevens for taking the same moral stand against hers.
You certainly know a thing or two about betrayal.
You’ve boasted about being a “shomer” - a guardian - of Jewish Americans.
Now you support a man who said “hurt people hurt people” after a terror attack on a Jewish school and can’t decide if Israel or Iran is a bigger enemy.
Disappointing Pete. Wish you had the bravery of Haley Stevens.
The cost of everyday life, our access to health care, and the rule of law itself are on the ballot right now.
Here in Michigan, I cast my vote for Jocelyn Benson, Abdul el-Sayed, and great Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.
If you haven’t already, make a plan to vote on or before Tuesday at IWillVote.com.

I’ve just heard the news about Senator Murphy.
As someone who survived a near-fatal stroke, I understand all too well how much this impacts your life.
My family is rooting for Chris and his family for a full and speedy recovery.
