interviewer was late for the zoom interview, realised i'd been waiting, said "a bit eager are we", rejected me despite my qualifications
We are so close to someone just straight up being like "I shouldn't have to be on time to a job interview"

Currently as we speak, Sudan is facing one of the WORST humanitarian crisis’s right now because of the UAE. Now, I don’t know why everyone commenting this believes the people asking for a UAE boycott somehow support America but Sudan is being actively ignored by EVERYONE
i do not support UAE but how is that any different from performing in the US?

Spain just blocked Archive Today. Try to visit the web archive and many Spanish ISPs now redirect you to a government page warning: “YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCESS AN ILLEGAL WEBSITE.” It even tells users they’re “contributing to an illegal and criminal activity” simply by trying to access it. A tool used by journalists and researchers to preserve the web is now treated like contraband. The block reportedly followed a complaint from an unnamed rights holder and was imposed by Spain’s Intellectual Property Commission, not through a court ruling. That's an entire web-archiving service blocked over copyright and the complainant isn’t even public.

Apartheid Israel created the largest # of child amputees in modern history in Gaza and is now preventing crutches from entering Gaza. Israel is a caricature of pure evil.
Powerful and utterly upsetting. Today in the Irish Examiner. 800 items NOT allowed into Gaza and it's only half the actual list. 4 standout for me: - Toys - Crutches - Babies nappies - Cancer medication Israel PREVENTS the very basics of life

and y’all need to STOP treating kalshi and polymarket as if they’re The News. they are BETTING platforms, and treating them as if they’re AP or reuters (who they steal their “reporting” from) lends them legitimacy that they did not earn and do not deserve.

October 7th stopped being an excuse for Israel's war after the (n)th massacre/bombing of Palestinian civilians happened the same way September 11th stopped being an excuse for the GWOT after the (n)th massacre/bombing of Iraqi and Afghan civilians

I truly don't mean to sound like a reactionary right-winger, but if you genuinely hate the United States and think it's the worst most evil country on earth but you are a wealthy person with a job you can do from anywhere... why do you live there?

Some people are seething at this and honestly my opinion of this is that the guy who was an ambulance driver in the Italian theater of WWI is very much allowed to have this kind of take.

Ed Sheeran performed at Robert Kraft's 2022 wedding, when he married this woman who is 40 years younger and several inches taller than him.
Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium, rallied stadium owners across the country to force Ed Sheeran to drop Macklemore from his tour because he said "Free Palestine". Kraft's company, Kraft Group LLC, has donated $3 million to AIPAC's United Democracy Project super PAC.

The Nazi-curious ADL takes a brief break from defamation of pop stars and streamers who say "Free Palestine" to offer a begrudging, nameless comment about the Republican Party's daily odes to Nazism.
There should be no place for antisemitism in American political life, including in political offices and on campaigns. Staff members of elected officials have a responsibility to uphold the same standards of decency and integrity we expect from those they serve. Leaders have a responsibility to ensure that the people representing them are not promoting or perpetuating hate.

Nothing says “we’re the good guys” like having Robert Kraft—a Trump-supporting billionaire, fanatical Zionist, and pedo pal of Jeffrey Epstein—put his thumb on the scale for your cause.
Macklemore says Robert Kraft rallied NFL owners to get him kicked off Ed Sheeran’s tour by threatening to withhold access to their stadiums as concert venues, and that Sheeran ultimately relented so as not to “take sides.” Sucks but at least Kraft got his happy ending.

That statement from Macklemore on Instagram might genuinely be one of the best and most sincere statements I’ve ever seen from an artist on Palestine. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT! 10/10

Incredible journalism. 60 Minutes has a convicted felon go undercover to talk to “pardon brokers,” people who will try to get you a pardon from Trump if you pay them. This administration’s corruption has created entire new job categories.

I’m reminded of this every time I go to a convention. No matter how loud the outrage farmers shitting up our online spaces get, they’re just a loud hikikomori minority. Wherever you go, the real anime community is full of friendly, enthusiastic, creative, and welcoming folks.
One thing I’ve realized while being at BlizzCon is how cynical I’ve become from treating social media like it’s an extension of the real world. It’s not. Social media is an angry caricature of the real world. At BlizzCon, people are hyped. They’re excited. They want to talk about the games they love. There are absolutely criticisms, but underneath them you can feel how much love and passion people have for these worlds. These aren’t people who haven’t played a game in 10 years but still spend every day talking about how terrible it is. And I say that knowing I’ve been in that place too and its easy to slip into. I also want to apologize to the people who used to listen to Tangents of Creation because it was a positive escape, only for me to eventually become extremely negative. Even if some of the things I was criticizing ultimately came true, I understand now why that negativity turned people off and I don't harbor any resentment for that. I would have walked away too. People want to be excited. They want to share the things they love with other people who love them too. And online, we’re constantly being fed ragebait, outrage, negativity, and garbage because that’s what gets engagement. So I’m going to try to be better about that. Not by becoming blindly positive or pretending criticism isn’t warranted. I still want to have nuanced, critical conversations about the things I care about. I just want to remove some of the cynicism from them. Because being negative and angry is incredibly easy. Being positive, fair, respectful, and still willing to criticize something thoughtfully takes a lot more work. And after this weekend, I think that’s something we could use a lot more of.
