October is Pitbull Awareness Month ~ a reminder of how loving and loyal these dogs can be. One year ago this month my pittie was tied to a train station in Harlem and left for dead. Today she’s sunning by the pool and still brings me a toy every time she sees me. Brookie (you might remember her as NYCACC’s Pond as seen in the video below) is living proof that speaking up matters. The January outcry by X advocates over her kill command is how I found her.
