We gathered together on Saturday to mourn the loss of 15-year old Javits Frimpong in our Borough, a young man whoโs shine, promise and potential was cut short due to gun violence as he walked to school.
Our hearts are broken at the loss of Javits and we send our condolences to this family during this unimaginable pain. We ALL have a shared responsibility to show up for our children and keep them safe. We have not done enough to create safe spaces free of bullying and violence. The work must continue and it will.
Sending love and prayers to the family, loved ones, school community, the Ghanaian community and our west African brothers and sisters. We are family and will be there for this family.
Thank You to the African Advisory Council (AAC) and EVERYONE for showing up for Javitโs family, from near and far! Please keep this family in your heart and prayers. ๐๐พ๐๏ธ๐
