Sophy Ridge: "Burnham.. promised to end 40 years of neoliberalism.. that wasn't a budget to end 40 years of neoliberalism, right?" John Healey: "I would say that's wrong" Who knew you could dismantle decades of neoliberalism by making gherkins a tiny bit cheaper?

The govt is giving 4 out of 5 households a one off payment of £100 to help with rising energy costs. But forecasts say typical annual bills could rise by as much as £469 in January. So as Ruth from Fuel Poverty Action says, the £100 is welcome but its just going to disappear.

Physical media as an option over digital doesn’t look so bad after all. Sony thought they were untouchable.
Sony has suffered a massive data breach affecting around 2.58 million So-net and plala customers. Sony Network Communications says hackers accessed its member database on October 19. Leaked information includes: • Names • User IDs • Email addresses • Other customer information • 16 bank account records, including account numbers and bank names The company says it has not found any leaked credit card numbers or expiration dates, and it does not store customers’ bank PINs. Sony says the affected servers have been shut down and the unauthorized connections blocked, while internet services continue to operate.

Today’s budget was a missed opportunity to put an end to a failed economic model that impoverishes the many and enriches the few.
