“I brought home a homeless person when I was a kid. His mother abandoned him when he was away at school. When the school year ended, he went home and there wasn't anyone living there, no note, phone number, or forwarding address. So, he was just sitting in the park, in the rain. I found him, brought him home, and introduced him to my mother. She took him in and he is still a part of our family. My mother is an amazing, loving grandmother to his children. That was 24 years ago.

So the plot of the John Lewis 2026 advert is as follows. Grandmother opens door to her obnoxious, rude and badly behaved grandchildren who proceed to trash her house. Motivated to distract them in some way she searches out a cherished Christmas wooden toy from the attic. But that fails to impress the little shits either. So she resorts to buy the entire Christmas stock of her local John Lewis store to bedeck a room in her London W1 townhouse with wonderment costing £ thousands. Only then do the spoilt little brats show any emotional engagement. What message does this put out, eh?

Idris Elba who lately has become a poster boy for the Royal family being in events and sucking up to them, apparently has apologised to King Charles because the prime minister of Antigua said they will remove Charles as head of state.
Why in the world he thought he should be apologising? The prime minister is an elected member of a state. The removal if it happens it's something people of a country want. Idris Elba doesn't represent anyone. He is an actor. Was he elected? The sheer arrogance of these celebrities is unbelievable. Dude you are just an actor. You represent nobody. The prime minister has nothing to apologise for.

Sarah Ferguson, Prince Andrew's ex-wife, was secretly filmed asking a businessman for £500,000 to "open doors" to Andrew. The businessman was an undercover reporter from the News of the World, a British tabloid.
In the video below, she tells him the money will "open up all the channels, whatever you need, whatever you want," and "then you meet Andrew and that's fine."
It was May 2010, and Andrew was Britain's trade envoy. She wanted the rest by wire transfer: "If you give me the bank account details, I'll arrange that no problem at all." Before he left, she picked up a $40,000 cash deposit in a black computer bag.
The paper ran the footage on May 23. The palace said Andrew was "unaware of the meeting." She apologized the same day for "a serious lapse in judgement."
Then the story flipped. In 2016 the reporter, Mazher Mahmood, known as the "Fake Sheikh," was jailed for 15 months for tampering with evidence in a different case. That year she sued the paper's owner. By 2018 she wanted £40 million in lost earnings, including two TV shows.
In January 2018, the owner's lawyers called her case "defective and embarrassing" and stood by the story. No ruling on her claim has been reported.
