36 hours away from the opening of the polls, a sizeable portion of Israeli society believes that the outcome of these elections will have a major impact on the viability of the Third Jewish Commonwealth.
But the acute fear shared by many is much more focused than that.
We fear Netanyahu.
Not the customary apprehension. A real gut, visceral fear.
Netanyahu will stop at nothing to remain in power. An attack on Iran? Sure. Intentionally igniting violence in the West Bank? You bet. Peddling "Apocalypse Now" with mushroom clouds? Check. Crashing the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange? Why not? Using violence to disrupt the electoral process? If only he could.
36 hours until the polls open. Then the 15 hours when the polls are open. Then the vote counting. Then the transition to a new government.
He's desperate and panicking. He will remain dangerous as long as he remains in power - more dangerous to Israel than Iran and Hamas put together.
Gird loins.

Trump: “We have Greenland because Greenland has a lot of oil.”
Uh wut? I know we had that security deal but Greenland is not a big petro-state in any way. And we don’t “have it.”

In case people are glossing over how completely batshit crazy this is, this is President of the United States saying that because he TALKED ABOUT A SENATOR’S ASS, that Senator went up in the polls 14 pts. (He went up ZERO POINTS!) His brain is eaten apart by dementia, its insane.

I regret to inform you that your data on that MiG is incorrect…
I’m literally with the drone operators on the frontline in Ukraine, dude. 🇺🇦
Operators I’ve spoken to reported Starshield-connected drones dropping out at 120 km/h after the restrictions were imposed. Starlink was already capped.
It’s since been restored, after Elon admitted imposing restrictions on Starlink and Starshield.
So pucker up, buttercup.
My reporting 👇

Replying to @ShaunPinnerUA
No, liar or moron.
Starshield was not restricted and never had a speed limit.
They have to buy access to Starshield network per-terminal and the terminals need to be reprovisioned to the Starshield network. They didn't do that for all terminals, many were using the cheaper civilian Starlink service and hacking them to be able to go over 100mph, against the ToS. The hack was patched via a software update so they could no longer use that hack, the civilian Starlink connections started dropping out above 100mph in motion as designed.
Obviously the fix for ukraine was to convert those Starlink terminals to run on the Starshield network and pay for the Starshield service as they were supposed to in the beginning, and Ukraine knew this all along. And thats what they finally did to fix their own problem.

🧵Saw most of the new Musk documentary. You should see it. It is frightening. The woman he was seeing at the time of the 2024 elections with whom he had a child suggests that he suggested he may have done something with Starlink in the US 2024 elections, (beyond bribing people).
Amazing closing argument -- for the Democrats. They just need to run this clip.

This is nuclear meltdown, ALL of the CEO's have quit the polar LNG project in Alaska because they learned that it was being secretly funded by Russia. Trump is a traitor not to just the Allied Nations but to his OWN country. How dare the U.S.A. talk about corruption or morality
Holy fucking shit! This must be STOPPED!!
"Polar LNG is an American company with a bald eagle and a flag on its website, promising that it “helps ensure the United States leads” and calling itself “America’s Arctic Advantage.”
Its plan is to liquefy natural gas on Alaska’s North Slope and ship it to Asia.
The New York Times found that at least some of its money came secretly from Novatek, a Russian energy giant under partial U.S. sanctions with close ties to Putin.
The man who ran the company said so. Joel Riddle, Polar LNG’s CEO until September, said he was told the startup money came from a company in the United Arab Emirates and later learned otherwise.
“It’s not only unlawful, but it’s not in the U.S. interest to have Russian technology controlling the commercialization of Arctic gas in the North Slope,” he said.
Novatek is no longer hiding it. The company told the Times on Friday that it’s moving to acquire “minority shareholder” status in the project: a sanctioned Russian firm openly seeking a stake in American gas production.
Putin discussed the project last month with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s envoys, as one of several energy deals the White House believes could smooth relations with Moscow and help end the war in Ukraine.
The Times found no indication Witkoff or Kushner knew about Polar LNG or its Novatek ties.
The sanctions that would block it carry a familiar name. The Graham Act specifically targets Novatek and its Arctic LNG 2 project because of the company’s ties to Putin. Trump waived those sanctions last week, calling it necessary to keep peace talks going.
Riddle didn’t leave quietly. He attached memos from the law firm Baker Botts to his resignation letter, noting that Treasury’s sanctions unit had already raised “potential Russia-related sanctions concerns” about the company’s Novatek ties.
At least two other top executives have also left, and Trump officials were warned about the secret Russian financing and urged to investigate. The Energy Department didn’t respond to the Times.
Polar LNG went after him. The company called Riddle a “disgruntled former employee,” said he was “terminated for cause,” and threatened litigation. Documents show he resigned six days before that termination letter, which cited, in part, his sanctions concerns.
“It is terrible on environmental grounds, it is a terrible idea on economic and geopolitical grounds, and most importantly this feeds the belief that Putin can get an out-of-jail-free card,” said Geoffrey Pyatt, a former State Department energy official.
Russian money in an American company, Russian technology on the Alaskan seabed, a Russian stake in American gas, discussed with Putin by the Trump’s envoys, and a sanctions waiver Trump signed weeks before an election."

The reason the US surpassed France is we invested in education & research.
In the late 1950s, we had 80 percent of teenagers enrolled in high schoolers compared to France that was still at 20 to 30 percent.
We built out public colleges and community colleges far more than France.
We invested in NSF & DARPA more than France did in research and allowed universities like Stanford to commercialize tech.
France's 57 percent of GDP is largely because of pensions which pay 60 percent of salary and something the US does not have.
Social security is 5% of GDP, compared to Frances's 14% for pensions.
Students in France want more spending on schools rather than simply on retirees & they oppose tax cuts for the wealthy.
France does have a more economical healthcare system (11% GDP) and Americans would get a better deal if we went to Medicare for all. We currently spend nearly 18% and have more denials and worse outcomes.
The bottom line is we can invest in our public schools, free college, trade schools, childcare, and Medicare for All while still having significantly less public spending than France.
We could have more economic growth by supporting our schools, colleges, universities, research, and entrepreneurs.
Productive investment in health and education leads to growth in a technology age that values human capital.
We can pay for this by taxing the billionaires and not wasting money on losing foreign wars.
This does not make us France.
It makes us the America that saw explosive growth and built the middle class post WWII.
