If I was Carrick I’d start four academy players from the Bournemouth game onwards. Lacey, Amass, Kamason, and another winger like Musa. Even give Dan Armer a go in defence. That’s the message the first-team lads need. If you’re not stepping up, there are kids ready to take your place. Guarantee if four academy players became regular starters right now, most of the underperforming seniors would suddenly raise their game. Nobody wants to lose their spot to a kid from the academy.
