Today is #LongCOVIDMemorialDay Six years later, we continue to mourn the thousands of #LongCOVID deaths, and millions of deaths from acute COVID-19 infection. We remember them with grief, love, and a commitment to keep fighting for those still at risk. Behind every statistic is a person whose life mattered. They were our parents, our children, our partners, our friends and family, our neighbors, and our colleagues. They were fellow people with Long COVID we met online, who listened when no one else would. They were loved. They were needed. They are deeply missed. They will never be forgotten. Memorials are also about honoring those still living with the consequences. Millions with Long COVID face careers ended, relationships changed, health that has not returned, and futures that had to be reimagined — impacts felt by families as well. For many, there has also been another loss: trust. Years of disbelief and dismissal in medical care, and the failure of governments and institutions to respond meaningfully, have deeply eroded faith in the systems meant to protect and care for people. This Long COVID Memorial Day, we remember those whose lives were lost, those whose lives were forever changed, and the many who will still face this devastating disease in the future. We honor the grief carried by families, the strength of those still fighting, and the profound ways this disease has reshaped our communities. Their lives and their stories must never be forgotten. Learn more about Long COVID and how to participate in #LongCOVIDAwarenessWeek starting tomorrow on #LongCOVIDAwarenessDay. longhauler-advocacy.org/lcam… Watch the memorial video here: youtu.be/x6Kre1moRQk

It’s long Covid awareness day. Unfortunately I am aware every day because I developed long Covid after getting infected in March 2020. Wasn’t hospitalised but am still not recovered. A necessary reminder of what SARS-CoV-2 can do. Life ruined. #covidisntover

Today is #LongCOVIDAwarenessDay — a moment to recognize the reality facing hundreds of millions worldwide. 🌎 #LongCOVID is not a disease fading into the past. For many, it is a daily struggle with no clear end and no approved treatment in sight. 🔗 omf.ngo/2026-long-covid-awar…

Today is #LongCovidAwarenessDay. I have been ill with #LongCovid for 6 years now. My life is unrecognisable from what it was. Still no treatments, hardly any research and very little support. We will never shut up about this until that changes.

Today is #LongCovidAwarenessDay Long Covid changed my life beyond recognition. I got ill. I never recovered. Lost my job. Became housebound. I rely on others to do things for me. I lie on my bed most of the day. Watch the Guardian's short film about my life with #LongCovid 👇

Today, on Long Covid awareness day I’d like to call out the prejudice delivered against long covid kids. My daughter is severely impaired by long Covid. She is attached to tubes 21 hours a day to keep her alive, and has 3x stomas as well as a permanent line into her heart for iv fluids. She has encountered sepsis repeatedly, all manner of acute life threatening secondary issues due to her condition, and is malnourished. She spends much of her time in hospitals. She missed 3+ years of schooling, but this year is attempting to do (with very minimal support from her teacher) Grade 12 English. She zooms into classes from the adult oncology ward she’s housed in. She reschedules treatments around lesson times to try and make them. But, she is acutely unwell and often this is impossible. That she even continues with education is remarkable. But, she loves learning and in spite of all she suffers, she is performing very well. This is the comment from her English teacher. Imagine this being said about a child in these health circumstances with ANY other illness……. #longcovidkids #LongCovidAwareness #longcovid

Haven't posted much about Long Covid of late. 6yrs on, it's just so disappointing: That researchers did nothing with billions. Failure to strike while iron was hot. Lack of appreciation of what Covid (still) does to people. Zero treatments. Etc etc etc. Truly, that's all I have.

Amazing work from everyone involved today! #MEAwarenessDay #StillTheSaME
Thank you so much @GreenJennyJones @AdrianRamsay @EllieChowns for coming out to support our #MEAwarenessDay protest with @LCMEBillboards. Things are #StillTheSaME for people with ME, but with politicians like this on board things can change 💚

Nothing has changed & it's #StillTheSaME for everyone who's diagnosed with #ME This is why #pwME are forced to share so much about #ME on social media, because it happened to us & it can happen to anyone #MEAwarenessDay #MEAwarenessMonth

1/11 I wish this post wasn’t necessary. I wish I could say things have changed. But here we are another year another May 12th and still so many of us are trapped in dark rooms silenced by a disease that feels like slow dying. #MECFS #MEAwarenessDay #ChronicIllness
