From the £100 winter energy payment to help over 69,840 Salford homes, to £2.8 million allocated to transform derelict Salford buildings into community spaces, there was a lot in today’s budget.
Here’s a few of the key takeaways for Salford👇

A new National Care Service. Greater public control of water, energy, and housing. A National Commission on Electoral Reform. Strengthening our relationship with Europe. Reforming the education and welfare system.
Today I set out a different path for Britain.
You may disagree with some or all of what I have said today. But I have given you what you often say is missing from politics.
Honesty, ideas and a clear direction for the country we all love.
If you agree with enough of what I have said, get behind this plan. And get behind each other.
It's time to draw a line.
To move beyond a decade of drift and division.
To bring a spirit of unity and positivity back to our country.
To unlock the working-class aspiration that is still there in every postcode.
To hope again.

I’m pleased that Salford will receive £222,000 through the Labour government’s new Good Food Neighbourhoods programme. The funding will give local people and Salford City Council the flexibility to improve access to affordable, healthy food.

Congratulations to everyone getting their GCSE results today, you should be proud of the work that got you here.
Whatever your results, remember there isn’t just one route to success.
We're creating more opportunities for young people to choose the path that's right for them, whether that's academic or technical.
Every young person should have the chance to fulfil their potential. I’ll make sure they do.

I’ve been working closely with @salford_mayor Paul Dennett, Councillor Hannah Robinson-Smith, Salford City Council and government ministers to help get us to this point. There is still work ahead, but this is a huge step forward. 2/3
Leadership is about restoring hope, inspiring belief, and bringing people together. If anyone can lead that journey, it's Andy Burnham. Congratulations on becoming Great Britain's new Prime Minister. Wishing you every success as you serve the nation. – at Urmston, England

My mother understood that violence is not only physical. It is also found in systems, policies, neglect, and indifference.
May we have the courage to confront violence in all of its forms and create a more just, humane world.

If you live, work or have a strong connection to Pendleton, I want to hear from you.
After securing £20m from the government for the area, it’ll be up to local people to decide how it is spent.
